After my recent trip from Aus to UK, I am trying to retroclaim some flyer points. To do this I have to email my e-tickets and itinerary to Virgin Australia.

I have scanned them into my computer and have them as bitmap files. Is there any way to convert these to pdf files that I can send as attachments?

Or even re-scan them and have them as pdf straight off the scanner?

Yes mate, when you scan them to your pc, select the place where you want them to go and also select in "file type" PDF and then save. It will save them as a PDF for you
If you get stuck George give us a pm

Hate smartphones. Still using a Nokia n95 (just celebrated its 7th birthday).

It does what I need ie makes and receives telephone calls !.

Me too. But it was useful in Europe.

Currently finishing day with a few beers.

Thanks for the offer of assistance, but it maybe tomorrow!

I use Primo (www.primopdf.com) It's a free utlility and it adds itself as a printer, so from any program, you can create a pdf file by simply clicking 'print' and changing the printer to Primopdf. Simple and useful

And even if you can't create a PDF straight from your scanner, you can stick the bitmaps in Word, resize them to full pages, and print that as a PDF with a lovely little freeware application called CutePDF. Just like everyone else here, I'll be happy to help.

Stick with me, fellows.... it seems I have two speeds these days since I got back from Europe - dead slow and stop! I'll get onto it though, as you only have a limited time to retro claim points! Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on which way you look at it), work just rang and want me to go and teach Physics tomorrow and Tuesday, so nothing will be getting done then. Tuesday is Melbourne Cup day, anorl.... grrr  :veryangry:

Rest assured, I will probably need more assistance - as I say, bear with me, folks?!

Hi George
If desperate email the scans you have and will do them tonight and return

Bealman

Thanks Colin - I'm really pushed for time at the moment, 'cos although I'm supposed to be retired (teacher) my old school keeps ringing me up asking me to go in. It's sort of like being on call so it can be frustrating (but very financially rewarding!).

I've been at work every day this week so I might yet take you up on it! Thanks! I knocked back work today, but unfortunately have to go out now. Once again, thanks for the offer and stay tuned!!

Let me take this opportunity to publicly thank trainsdownunder for fixing the above problem, and also a big thanks to all the others above who offered help and suggestions.

To me, it illustrates yet again the power of this forum.  :thankyousign: :NGaugersRule:
