..........What, exactly, is "TINGS"?

Keep reading that you're all going (without me!) and I feel left out of the clique. Could someone please enlighten me?

I hate to miss things I dont know about; I need to know so that I can miss it with full knowledge

It's an annual event for N gaugers, The International N Gauge Show, held in September atavenue neaqr Leamington, as its name suggests it is all N gauge, layouts and traders.

Another word for you then .. "Warley"  :-[

That's the one where you don't get to see any layouts, walk for miles to get in from the car park, and pay for the privilege of being able to park your car nowhere near the venue ;)

That's a very good reason not to go then!

I'll wait for TINGS to come round in the hope that I'll get there next time.

Ah - sounds like you don't know where to park then !  Let alone how to ensure you see the layouts that interest you ...  ;)

Warley & TINGS tend to be the only big shows I attend these days.

The last time I went to the NEC I took the train - off the train and straight into the exhibition center
Mark.

Tonka toys, big boys toys.

Not sure exactly which station, but I've heard there is one only a few minutes by train from NEC and it has a free car park close by.

It is Birmingham International.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Indeedy... So if you would like to come see a great amount of layouts and don't fancy Warley that weekend, come forth to the 31st Annual Festival of Model Railways & Hobbies
23rd & 24th November 2013

A shamless Plug :-

Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre,
Garon Park,
Eastern Avenue,
Southend on Sea,
Essex.
SS2 4FA.

Hmm... colour me interested, that's quite local.  And I've already traded any possibility of going to Warley this year for financial approval of my 4CEP with sound.

Nope, they charge ;)

There is another one down the tracks that Mike is referring to - and I can't recall what it's called either  :-[

The track is still there, but the car that runs on it is now just a monorail, the MAGLEV is no more.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

I seem to remember the Maglev car ending up being sold on e-bay.
Some days its just not worth gnawing through the straps.
