I have DZ125IN which is for my DMU trailing carriage lights I plug this into the main DMU Unit and can't get the lights to work at all.

I was going for the reset 008 into CV8 but it wont write and the write tab/box is not lit the number in the CV8 is 129

The main decoder for the DMU works fine lights and all.

It may need a load to program.

Put the decoder in the driving car and try programming it there. If that works then swap it back and see if it works in the dummy. My guess is that will sort it.

If not check the dummy works with the blanking plug and if it doesn't send it back to Bachmann.

If it does work with the blanking plug then bend the pins on the DZ125 *gently* out a bit so that its firmer on the socket and see if that does the trick.

Decoder is in the driving unit and does not work lights in the driving unit.
The other units lights work with the blank but don't switch of course.
And both have same id.

Could be a dud decoder then. It does happen. Check with your supplier about getting it exchanged and if there are any checks they want you to do first.

If the problem moves with the decoder not with the socket or loco it's a fair bet its the decoder.

I know subject title is now wrong BUT.....

I now have fitted and have working two Bachmann E-Z Command decoders and all is almost well.

The dummy's light change but with a 1-2 second delay is this a CV setting or just how it it?
