Hi guys, new here and I was wondering if you guys could tell me how much my layout is worth.

It is N gauge and it is about 1-1.5 meters to about 0.75 meters, it has to sets of rails and one set of points with full scenery and underground tunnels.

If it's for an insurance value then it will only be worth the sum of its cost in materials, plus a nominal sum for the work involved in construction.

With the occasional exception, layouts are never worth THAT much money in terms of what was spent on them.

There really isn't a stright forward answer, we certainly can't judge from your vauge description.

The true answer is its worth what someone is willing to pay, and thats probably less than you think its worth... - it depends on many factors including the quality of the workmanship, are you including any stock, does it have a known 'pedigree' (e.g. has it been exhibited at major shows/ appeared in main magazines)

Rather like second-hand houses - it's only ever 'worth' what a buyer is prepared to pay, assuming you can find someone who wants to buy it. Of course, its 'value' to you will be significantly higher. And insurance valuation is entirely a different matter, always assuming you get it insured and that the 'excess' isn't in excess of the 'worth/value'.
