For those old enough to remember this, Blake's 7 is to be remade for the SyFy channel, so if you line Murdochs pocket, you'll be able to see this remake of a classic cult program. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-22079232

For those who haven't got a clue what I'm talking about, get a life  :P :P :P Seriously, have a look at this link http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/classic/blakes7/index.shtml

Hands up all those who thought Servalan was just the sexiest female you'd ever seen  :heart2: :heart2:

Regards

Neal.

P.S. I'm off for a cold shower   :worried: :worried:

Steady, Neil :o

I always remember the crummy, wobbly scenery on the sets :smiley-laughing:

I preferred Servalan in Carry On Don't Lose Your Head

Please god dont remake it, it'll be sh!te, like new red dwarfs.

will airwick rerelease that globe airfreshner so we can remake the ship, and those 70's hand held hairdriers are getting rare.

New orginal thinking please.......

The Prisoner's already been done ... and have heard rumours about a new Captain Scarlett, and UFO ... btw, did you know Space:1999 was really UFO season 2 ?  Wonderful show, UFO ... shame the Yanks couldn't understand it (way ahead of its time) & pulled the plug on the cash, hence S:1999 being rapidly made to use the sets etc they'd already done ...

Not sure this is needed. Sure the originals had wobbly sets and dodgy SFX but so did most other sci-fi at the time. Unlike Battlestar Galactica, Blake's 7 is complete. There is no sense of there being more story to tell.

It is the story of idealism, vs pragmatism. Blake started off as an idealistic rebel, slowly became a fanatic and ended up dying at the hands of the man he thought was his best friend.

Well, that's just not good enough. Some fount of all knowledge you are!   ;)

I loved the original series and didn't notice the wobbly sets (probably as I was only 9 at the time). The final episode was one of the greatest TV moments ever: Blake was returning and they were all going to fly off into the sunset or so I thought! That's how to end a series and guarantee no 5th series although the novel 'Afterlife' was released shortly afterwards where some of the cast had somehow survived!
I understand peoples thoughts of 'why not try something original' but the revamped Battlestar Galactica was epic proving it will wok if done well.
Somewhere in the attic is a teleport bracelet which Blue Peter showed you how to make.

Was the last programme the one where they all got blasted at the end?  I was about 14 so don't remember the details, but I do recall hearing one of the people behind it interviewed on Radio 4 and saying that the blasters could just have been set on stun, so there's still scope for a sequel...

Paulncc1705

yes it was,and I was so pleased they all got killed :D

Ah - but were they ?  You never actually saw them die, IIRC !

My wife and I were just reminiscing about Blake's 7 at the weekend...

And yes, I was a big fan of Servalan.  :-[

One or two were offscreen in the final shoot-out so might plausibly have survived. Plus I think there is a good chance that Villa hit the deck and "played possum" when the bullets started flying.
