Hi all, has anyone had experience of them recently?
I want to order some microtrains wheelsets from them but found they were very slow and often did not have stuff in stock. BTW last time I dealt with them was about 10 years ago.

I tried contacting them last year and am still waiting on a reply, yet a few years ago they were a top notch company to deal with. I don't know what has gone wrong with them  ???

cheers John.

Hi

I would agree. I went to Sharps about a year ago and enquired about some Microtrain couplings none in stock, asked when they would be getting any more no idea can the reply.

Tried P and H models who actually had them in stock and from memory shipped the same day.

Cheers

M G Sharp, waste of space, I had some Microtrains couplers on order and after many emails and 6 months waiting just cancelled the order as they didn't seem to care whether I ordered or not.  I've since switched to MBM's much better.

Their website does contain a lot of useful reference information about Kato  - I haven't bought from them for all the reasons that have been given.

Cheers  all, have confirmed my suspicions.
Am actually after some multipacks of z gauge wheel  sets p/n 004 12 000 (950)  to use on Nn3.
Have been robbing wheels from the packs of trucks I had in stock. Now have lots of z gauge stock now without wheels and still have projects without wheels.

MG Sharp always charged top dollar (or Yen!).  Bill Eaglesham was famously grumpy, but service was quite good.  When he died, and his son started to run the business, it gradually began to slide - prices up still further, service and stock going down.  I haven't dealt with them for years - I'd rather buy from overseas.  Even if you end up paying VAT, PO handling charge, etc, stuff still usually works out cheaper than Sharp's prices.

Cheers,
Phil

Got my last Z wheels from Ntasticshop - who now also stock the rather nice metal FullThrottle wheels - good for most stuff  (just don't try them with my etched NN3 wagon chassis as it'll short)

Thanks EP.
I knew of the ones Richard stocks but his website is currently only showing packs of 48 and sods law says I would mislay half of those before I need them. :scowl:

Why don't you contact Richard and ask if he will do a smaller quantity for you, after all a sale is a sale and the worst that can happen is he says no  ;)

cheers John.

Hi  Mike,

Forget MG Sharps as others have said  only thing  he  sold me  well  worth the money was  my NCE Pro   controller  when  i   was looking at  DCC  :claphappy:

Why not try ordering direct  if all  else fails   ;) shipping  seems   around  $8.55   to the  U.K.  scroll  down  in the link  below   for your requirements  :D

tried that, they were not interested in direct sales and told me to contact my nearest dealer.

Two US shops I've had nothing but good service from, over the years, are MB Klein's and N Scale Supply.  Both seem to hold good stocks of a wide range of stuff, including things like couplers.
