As you may know from reading a few of my last posts, I have lost all my photo's that I posted for 90% of my project threads. 
I believe that a few that were posted from my old photobucket account can still be viewed. That account is  not active as I could not access it since one of the old photobucket upgrades, my current account is showing nothing and I am not going to carry on using it.
Unfortunately all the original photos are stuck on a dead laptop HD that means I shall have to take new ones which DO NOT show the construction  methods used.  

Apologies to all who have been following everything, I am not even bothering trying to fire up the old HD even if I could connect it to my working laptop.

Dead laptop, or dead disk ?  If not the latter, hooking the drive up via USB to your current one could let you salvage the imagery (& whatever else is on there) ...

The kits are quite cheap for this ...  basically it's a small board with the disk connector at one end & a USB socket at the other that fits into a case with the disk ...  I've salvaged a lot of stuff that way, for myself & others.

Old HD sounds like a tractor as it trys to spin up. Think has died as it also gets very hot.
Pictures prior to May 2012 appear to still be available - these  were on the old photobucket account.

Could also be worth emailing photobucket about the account that is inactive, they may be able to get you 'back on' to it?

Sorry to hear about the dilemna though as I lost my photos of pets/ireland so know the feeling.

Sorry to here that you have a problem with your old computer.
I know its "after the horse has bolted" for you but having lost a few photos several years ago, I now back everything up to an external hard drive every so often.
It really is worth that little bit of effort and external drives are VERY cheap these days.
Plus you can usually set the backup to run automatically (say once a week) at a time convenient to you.

I have a 500gb Seagate expansion drive which was pretty cheap and the laptop is set to back up every Sunday morning. All I need now is a something to remind me to plug the expansion drive in on Sundays

Thanks for the comments guys, am currently going through my coolection of memory sticks.
They have some of my stuff backed up on them, found the important personal docs I had lost. Back ups of the stuff that is still visible found so hoping the rest are there as well.

dont worry too much about the laptop drive getting hot, they all do that in my experience.
As for sounding like a tractor, they do that alot too when not in the antivibration mounts most of them sit in.  theres no harm in trying to get a usb enclosure/interface for it, it only has to last as long enough to drag your lost files off it.

Yes  - I used a usb enclosure/interface for a ten year old laptop and was able to rescue some treasured images from the hard disk. It is worth a shot.

The good news is I have found most of the current stuff on memory cards and usb sticks.
I am going to organise them all into a couple of folders and burn them to Dvd before I try to upload them again.
They were in a folder with all the downloads from scalescenes and clever models that I updated every time I purchased a kit.
The bad news is it is going to take a while to back up to CD or DVD  first.

 
Pictures now backed up to CDR . Won't be posting them till new year as I would use up my remaining mobile data allowance.
Will probably do a thread a month.

Great news, I've only lost all my data once and ever since then have made sure I've got at least one backup somewhere.
