Hi all.

Just gone noon and it's 37 C out my back door.

I think I would rather be at North Bondi.

Almost 40 here. I don't much fancy the beach either, I'll stay in the air conditioning at Chez Bealman, thanks!

Just back from a fire call in the CBD, glad to get out of our "heat friendly" fire fighting attire.
Cant wait to get home and the pool

Temperature out back at Bealman's now

Not much cooler inside, either, although air-con has just been switched on.

Hope the Aussie contingent are having a good Australia Day, although it sounds like Bart has been a bit busy!

we had that yesterday, 19 and drizzle today, but still managed to enjoy a glass of good Aussie bubbly or 2 to celebrate Australia Day.

Sometimes you bite the dog...

...sometimes the dog bites you!

I can explain it to you...

...but I can't understand it for you.

Mate, give me that anyday.

This heat makes normal functioning almost impossible.

It's still 28 degrees in the house and I've just cooked a frozen pizza for dinner.

Stupid thing to do, when I think about it  ;)

Yes, but for the second day running I have to accept the risk of vehicular death by driving icy roads in a Sprinter to pay the bills. The main roads are okay, but the roads between and in villages are very dicey. Should all be gone by tomorrow. Then it's back to the gloom and the rain.  :(

I admit that it was a pitch dark cold late January night with snow everywhere, miners strike, and some little so and so throwing a snowball with a rock in it through my parents front window, that clinched it for me. That was January 1974, and I was working in Australia in September that same year.

Normal functioning? What's that?
Yep, should have eaten the pizza frozen

I'd send you this but I'm not sure if it would get damaged in the post

In April 2024 I will be raising money for Cancer Research UK by doing at least 100 press-ups every day.  Feel free to click on the picture to go to the donations page if you would like to help me to reach my target.

To follow the construction of my layout "Longcroft" from day 1, you'll have to catch the fish below first by clicking on it which isn't difficult right now as it's frozen!

How's it feel to have a snowman with better dress sense than you?

Well, what a change! After the scorching Australia Day, only 22 degrees and wet. Bealman even had a jacket on!

Pizza Hey.
My mum always cooked a full hot lunch for Christmas (potatoes , beans, pumpkin, ham, hot pudding, hot rice pudding, etc) regardless of the ambient temperature.  Rockhampton in summer on a wood fired stove.
Mad dogs and English men.
To be called pompous and arrogant - hell of a come down.
I tried so hard to be snobbish and haughty.
