Computer Help / Re: Photograph file sizeLast post by Fardap - August 20, 2025, 04:17:59 PMI recently also had this issue, some photos loaded others were rejected but the same initial size.
What I have also seen looking at sizes in My Gallery is if I upload a photo and then edit it within the forum gallery (rotate it for instance) then the resulting file might be Mb in size and not under 1Mb as it was - so all a bit odd to say the least. At one point I was doing a 'bulk upload' of 4 images and one it wouldn't take as 'too large' yet was similar size to the others - even tried doing in pairs in case it was a 'total' for the 4 images but same issue. No idea why. #52
Computer Help / Photograph file sizeLast post by Ali Smith - August 20, 2025, 03:58:43 PMOn Monday I added a reply to my French Collection thread. When I came to add the last photo I was informed it was too large and should be less than 976.56kB. I reduced the file size and all was well.
Today I attempted to add another reply and was told that another photo was bigger than 976.56kB, which it was, just. I reduced it to 874kB and it is still being rejected for being larger than 976.56kB. I hadn't heard of this restriction before (I usually post at between 1 and 2MB) but I can live with it if it would only recognise when an image is smaller than the limit. I am loading photos straight from my computer rather than using my gallery on the Forum. Am I doing something wrong (I've uploaded loads of photos in the past without difficulty) or is there something wrong with the Forum? #53

This elicited an unexpected release of invective and accusations of 'Philistine' and 'Heretic' from the pair of them. To be fair it only has as you were wrong ![]() Also rookie error offering an opinion to your wife or daughter before finding out what the expected answer should be... Stay safe... #55

So thankyou for this, the humble Scone (as in cone) has thrust a wedge into my otherwise harmonious domestic arrangements! ![]() #56

I believe the N Gauge and N Gauge Society Yahoo groups morphed into io groups and can be found here: Thanks! All I remember was that the yahoo groups disappeared at a busy time in my life and that I discovered the NGF later, when my life calmed down a bit! I've had a peek and can see a vague "yahoo resemblance" in terms of the style and format of the groups. I will keep my life simple and stick to just the NGF anyway! | Please Support Us!
