Being purely selfish I'd love something which wouldn't look out of place in Europe but I know that's not going to happen :)

Whatever is is I'll have one for the display case :)

Thanks for the input so far.

Sadly, the options in the poll are all that are available in number.

Please keep voting folks.  I want to get this started in the next couple of weeks, ideally.

And I agree Papyrus, it feels longer to me as well!  :*(  ;D

If this is the NMT laser car module then I'd suggest removing the rectifier-diode package (D1 on the board), and connect the decoder's function outputs directly to the pads marked + and -.

What you might have a problem with the number of LEDs and the current they draw - they might need more than a single decoder output can provide.

Standard bridge rectifiers do work on DCC but may cause corruption of the DCC signal so using high speed rated signal diodes is recommended.

Some folk can't stand wagons like this, but I love em! If I go somewhere, I bring back souvenirs (usually tea towels), but, if they are available, why not railway models?

I have wagons from Kyoto Railway Museum, Minatur Wunderland, and various Peco ones - including Charles coronation, courtesy of @Train Waiting .

Bring it on, @Tank ! :beers:

fair enough, as I mentioned just an idea.
I will be purchasing one regardless.

Quote from: Graham on Yesterday at 11:09:56 PMI know not many people on here model modern image, but possibly a 20 or 40ft container could be an option.
regardless, great idea.

Unfortunately as I understand it, they are not an option from the supplier.

Or, as Peco also do them, as another possible alternative, how about a Conflat with an "NGF 15" container?

Bridge rectifiers are designed for mains frequencies, 50/60 Hz (cycles per second for the aged and infirm) :)
DCC is 8/10 kHz so the diodes cannot react fast enough to rectify the current.
Need to use signal diodes as they react fast enough.

Just seemed an unfortunate symmetry. Perhaps someone like Narrow Planet for custom ones? You've got decent photos.
