N Gauge Discussion / Re: Newbie N Gauge questions -...Last post by bwj - June 16, 2025, 09:19:10 PMQuote from: ntpntpntp on June 16, 2025, 11:31:24 AMWith regard to signals, the brand of track is irrelevant as there's no connection between the two unless you're using some kind of detection or DC / ABC isolating section linked to or controlled by the signal. Thanks to all for replies On the signals issue I don't clearly understand what common positive is as opposed to common negative! When I've browsed the few N gauge signals available the tech descriptions have never been very clear as to DCC compatability - when they say 12v operating I tend to assume they are DC; the exception is the Absolute Aspects signals mentioned above but they are very expensive for an amateur! #32
General Discussion / Re: what are you listening to ...Last post by Moonglum - June 16, 2025, 09:11:43 PMMartin @port perran , I think Stevie Nicks has her moments (Dreams) but generally I preferred Christine McVie (RIP) on lead vocals with Fleetwood Mac.

General Discussion / Re: what are you listening to ...Last post by port perran - June 16, 2025, 08:57:26 PMI'm afraid I find Stevie Nicks' voice incredibly annoying so not a fan at all but have to agree that Sade is a class act.

General Discussion / Re: what are you listening to ...Last post by Moonglum - June 16, 2025, 08:43:00 PMBy the mid 1980's my musical tastes had somewhat changed. Heavy rock and progrock were distant memories, punk had thankfully been and gone, the New Romantics were fading and then this lady burst on to the scene. Every album she has produced is pure class and I have played them to death. Here from 2011 her last live DVD is Sade CBE with "Smooth Operator"...

General Discussion / Re: Unbonding SuperglueLast post by ntpntpntp - June 16, 2025, 04:40:34 PMNail varnish remover (acetone) is supposed to be good for this. There are commercial "de-bonder" products (as always, google will find them for you).
To be honest I just use a sharp scalpel to part the two pieces as it's only a surface bond not a melting of the material as you get with plastic solvent glues. #38

I use signals from Absolute Aspects, they're not cheap but are very good. BTW, the Pendo has 9 cars ![]() John P #39
