Finally, after a couple of years putting up with slower and slower broadband, I persuaded Open Reach to investigate. Yep there was a fault. You now have 50Mbps at the property boundary.

So why was i getting 18Mbps at the computer.

Hmmm. Lets take a look, the tech man says.
I'm getting 30Mbps without the router connected and 20Mbps connected. You need a new router.
But don't worry. In a couple of years you will get Full Fibre.

Router arrived yesterday. I now have 50 Mbps and have now to spend what will feel like days setting every wireless connection to the new router code. Happy Days!

Bob

PS next up is negotiating a price drop...

Unhappy about wagons today.

Two of my Sonic Vanwides weathered by Rails had never run well. One had never run at all.
So I arranged for them to be sent back (after refusing to take a video of them not performing as expected). I called them the Good, the Bad and the Ugly, because only one was a good runner.

Well today they came back. The email I got said "I can see the issue you have been having with the not so free running wheels. I have replaced the faulty wagon (why not wagons???) and replaced it with an example that free wheels, the replacement wagon has also been weathered".

Well I was expecting the one they replaced to have been "Ugly", but oh no. This morning I received the parcel and "Ugly" was still "Ugly".

I phoned them back.
"Have you tried oiling the axles?"
No. It just doesn't run at all.
"The technician has told me they they ran round on their test track ok"
(thinks, well of course if you apply enough force, you can drag the wagon around...)
I'm not inventing this. I'm the NGS Helpline Coordinator and I'm a bit fed up
"Do you want a returns label?"
(breathes a sigh) Yes. I will put a post-it on the package indicating which wagon is at fault.
"Good idea"

I'm really fed up with having to return items more than once. Does anyone want two free-running Vanwides?

I had a very pretty petite brunette Greek Doctor attend me when I slipped on the bathroom floor on holiday and suffered bad concussion. She managed to make sure I followed her finger to check that my vision and physical responses were fine. They certainly were!

I'm with @Moonglum regarding the Yes-Talk album.

Definitely ok but not really my kind of thing I'm afraid.

Well, I survived it and have been eating (and drinking) everything in sight since yesterday. Was a bit concerned when the health centre called me at about 2pm and started with the line, "I see you're booked in for a procedure with us later......." My immediate thought and judging by her tone of voice was that they would say it was too hot, or the camera was broken, left in someone's throat etc and that the appointment had been cancelled. But no, she asked if I could come in an hour early. I just wanted to get it over with so of course I agreed but warned her that I still had a fair bit of water in my system as I hadn't got to my cut off time yet. Not a problem she said. Well, it wasn't a problem to her but I'm not sure the consultant/surgeon/bum doctor was impressed with the tidal wave which followed later. I did have a little titter when that happened but the gas/air maybe helped that too as I almost overdosed on it. I was as high as a kite for an hour afterwards even though they say it only takes 15 minutes to wear off. They said I was allowed to drive but I told them I was happy enough being 40,000 feet up in the air instead.
Anyway all went reasonably well. They only found 1 polyp which is now winging its way to the lab and they found a couple of other bits in there which I can't pronounce or even remember what they were called. Hopefully I'll get the all clear soon and they have booked me in again for 5 years time which is a plus for me as they sounded confident that I would be able to attend that appointment
As a final note, I know there are a lot of negative comments regarding the NHS but I can't fault any of them who I saw on Thursday. They asked if I had any questions and I got to ask the question as to how long that camera is. Only about 5 feet long apparently
The other question I wanted to ask but didn't was, do they deliberately make sure they have 1 nurse with big boobies in the operating theatre holding my hand and telling me I was doing really well when all I could do was to keep staring at them  :D

Trouble is for me Mick @Newportnobby , when this album was released I wasn't listening to this type of music anymore, it's OKish at best but not so much fun as this...

BTW The Band Geeks are a revolving set of musicians with featured artists led by Phil Castelleno of Blue Oyster Cult.

Anyway, I am off to the Risborough and District MRC Open Day this afternoon in search of suitable bits for my latest diorama (just in case anyone thinks I don't do any modelling!).

Some more 'recent' (1994) Yes
I really do commend this to the House as there's some great stuff on it
(Just put it on and give the album a try)
