I remember my first spelling test, fifty two years ago when I was four years old. I got 9/10 right. The one I got wrong was 'one'. I put 'oen' because that's how it sounded. The secret of learning to read is having a young blonde teacher with red painted fingernails.

And a very short Mini Skirt

It's Friday - thank Crunchie (oops - is that advertising?) :beers:

It is indeed, you should've said: "It's Friday - thank generic chocolate-honeycomb confectionery bar of a brittle nature".

You were right about the  :beers: though, so I think we'll forgive you.
Two rails good. Three better.

I thought they painted their feet yellow so they couldn't be seen upside down in a bowl of custard (scrapes barrel as hard as possible)

They moved on - too many people knew about the custard and the cherry trees.

Elephants that sit in trees
Really hate Dutch Elm disease
In the boughs they sit and sun
A branch gives way down they come
Grumpily sat in the plants
Picking splinters from their pants

Beware craters beneath trees
Lest they have Dutch Elm disease
For from on high there may thump
An elephant in a grump
In the bushes sat resigned
Peeling you from his behind
