Hattons have just written to me cancelling my order for three new Farish items, apparently because you are no longer supplying these to Hattons. I don't know the reason behind this but Hattons told me to contact Bachmann direct to find out more. The items are:
372-033DS Class 4073 4-6-0 5029 "Nunney Castle" in GWR green with DCC sound
372-876 Class 319 319382 in Thameslink livery
372-877 Class 319 319362 in Northern Rail livery

Has anyone else had a similar email, or know what is going on?

Hi
Just had auto email cancelling two train packs - the 47522 royal mail pack and 47583? NSE pack  then another cancelling 20205 in preserved condition. Very Strange I wonder if perceptions on price value and sales has hit home and Bachmann are reducing financial exposure risks?

Are eHattons requiring a re-order because of a price hike and they don't eat to be caught wit their pants down.

Hi , May be but in past with coaches that got hiked I got an  email advising and offering cancellation option not just been thrown back with out reason

Hi Gang,

I'm not really sure what is going on here but the 'Capital Connections' train pack is showing at Hattons as out of stock with the option to be notified if a pre-owned one surfaces!!! Strange...

I suspect this may either be a hiccup on the stock numbers and ordering or the cynic in me maybe thinks that Bachmann have pulled it back to make it a Collectors Club release and gain full retail price direct from the customer rather than trade price from the box-shifters.

It may be that more models will go this way given how everyone is reviewing their orders after recent 'above inflation' price increases...

I certainly know what new items I want...but I am considerably more choosy now about where my money goes.

Later,
Stu from EGDL.

Unlikely because Hattons no longer offer a guaranteed pre-order price, as Robert says below, instead if price rises you have the option to cancel.

I saw this on RM Web too. It does seem very strange to announce the sets then almost immediately cancel them. It could be costings, rationalising production or a multitude of other possibilities but it does seem to blow a big hole in the 2016/17 NSE celebration theme..

We have a few people in the trade on here, I wonder if they can shed any light??

Hi Guys
So far nothing from Farish about any cancelations, and i also cant believe they have all sold out already as they are still shown on the dealer website list as due soon. They arent however in the container that has just arrived so if they are imminent then there is a little time to go.

I doubt they would convert them to the collectors club range now as that would be a PR disaster to do that nd also they are also still showing as available to order. Its more likely to be something Hattons have done or changed on their system.

Hornby on the otherhand have cancelled around a third of the 2016 range so it is possible but i doubt it.

They cancelled my order for a couple of 319s. I attempted to place a new order, but the impression I got was that Hattons aren't getting 319s in stock - they only show as possible 2nd hand orders. I've now ordered them from elsewhere; hopefully they don't get cancelled again.

Hattons are normally pretty good - for example, I've had orders where the payment card has been declined (usually because I've changed cards in the time between placing the order and it being processed), and they've phoned me up and sorted it straightaway. This is the first time there's been an issue - seems to be a Bachmann problem rather than Hattons I think.

This is looking more like a Hattons problem rather than a Farish problem.

It begs the question are they going to stop stocking Farish after a mid year date and before the new items become available.

If i'm not mistaken they were also closing one of their premises.

NB. Farish have now posted a photo of the Nunney Castle on their website, so it's on its way!

They have closed their original shop in Liverpool and concentrated their operations at their warehouse on some deity-foresaken industrial estate, presumably the mail order business brings way more turnover than the shop and apparently it was in need of major repairs anyway.

It looks like someone has 'reset' all of the 2016 announced stuff. My class 40 preorder, which is still way, way off, hasn't changed status. All of the 2016 stuff I'd put on my wishlist has been changed to 'unavailable'.

I think a phone call is required.

I phoned straight away but Hattons could not tell me more and referred me to Bachmann. Since it's a weekend I have only been able to contact them electronically.

We seem to be no nearer to identifying at which end there is a problem.

It does seem as though only the 2016/17 Farish announcements are affected. Hattons told me that all my other existing Farish pre-orders are fine.

This really does require a more substantial response from Hettons,

Maybe there is a new Hattons exclusive Class 319 in the offing in London Midland livery. :)
