Wanting to get custom name plates for diesels.

Thanks!

I have used Fox transfers and Light railway stores(was Narrow planet) with no problems even for bespoke nameplates although you have to wait a while for bespoke plates and they are not as cheap as those already in their product range. the N gauge society also have a stock of number and name plates, but you need to be a member. hope this helps

Alex

I've only used Light Railway Stores myself and had a good experience with them. As others have mentioned custom plates can take a while to be made and sent out so be aware you will be waiting a while. LRS currently advise 8 weeks minimum.

I've run into the problem of being in the US: no shipping.  :(

What style of nameplate? There's a big difference between a bog-standard plate and the type fitted to the class 40 and Peaks for example.

Try:

Good question.

I don't want it to look goofy, but I am employing Rule 1. So, I just want my real-to-life but fictitious place to have locos I named, based on the proposed region, running by. So, as long as size and color looks good to me, I'm happy.

Light Railway Stores has exactly what I want, but won't ship to the US.

A company I used many years ago was Narrow Planet but I know they changed names and I cant remember the new name but I am sure someone on here will help.
I did have to wait quite a long time but they did 2 sizes for me but only charged for one as they said  the scale size one was only just legible and as it was a personal memorial name for my late friend they thought I would prefer a larger nameplate .
