Getting Buffers

[Jollybob]

Good afternoon gentlemen,

I'm sure that this question has probably been asked already, but since N Brass closed, I found found it quite hard to find a suitable source of wagon buffers from. Does anyone know of any suggestions?

Many thanks,

Rob.

You need to be a member of the 2mm SA but they have a range: https://www.2mm.org.uk/products/shops.php?shop_num=2

The N Gauge Society, which you are showing a membership number for, do these

Peco do brass wagon buffers heads, but not, AFAIK, suitable bodies. They push in to the ends of model kit buffers beams.

Thanks for the reply guys. When you think about it, there is not a lot of options out there. I will have to think about what to do next.

I too have missing buffers for the Sonic Vanwide. It's impossible to get spares and the NGS doesn't seem to supply round wagon buffers.

I agree with Bob Tidbury that BH Enterprises is a good choice for turned brass buffers.  I bought some a few months ago (BHE381) and am very pleased with them.

The BHE catalogue dated 5 April 2025 includes the following list for brass buffers but I do not know if these are all in stock.  Best to check first.

However, as Bob says, be patient when you order from BHE.

The best thing to do is complete
link removed

Best thing is definitely NOT to follow that suspicious looking link without knowing what it is, especially when it includes some form of user ID or tracking ID... - results of a Google search indicate it is associated  with advertising servers and/or hosting spoof phishing websites...

Complete post removed.

The link intended for BH E

http://www.bhenterprises.co.uk/

You can click the product catalogue link which is bonafide and the contact form or email
link. Someone will respond re the buffers and see which ones will be suited, stock levels etc.  Brian has asked us to post and the link should take you to the catalogue

As Bob and Ian have said please be patient, use the email bob gave and note the chaps and Martin and myself all have full time jobs and family matters but we will respond

This link works, including mobile devices.

Granted we've lost a few suppliers over the years, like TPM and NBrass, but there's still a reasonable choice from the likes of the NGS, Peco, BHE, 2mmSA and various suppliers on eBay such as Beaver, Peter's spares and others. But probably worth ordering a few more than you immediately need so that you have some spares for future needs.

Sound advice there.

When the NGS changed the buffer size in one of their kits to 3mm diameter I went off to another supplier and bought a quantity of 3.45mm ones.  That was to ensure that any newly built kits would be similar to my old ones.

Good Evening all,

I hope one and all are well?

I know most of you are shocked a posting from BH Enterprises, a big Thanks goes out to @crewearpley40 and @Bob Tidbury for advising to look at the website. It is appreciated from the 3 of us Andrew / Martin and myself    .

Shout out to @icairns also for adding the information and image.

Bob I see your back on line with technology

On the BH Enterprises Website, we do understand it's throwing challenges to some people. It is noted and on the horizon is a new website coming, it's not going to be a overnight launch.  We want to try and get over the challenge(s) the existing site has the unsecured server links etc, please bear with us as trying to get Diaries sync'd is challenging.

We're not Amazon and can have a near perfect web links with million pound(s) resources.

On any requirements for the buffers from any one of the forum has, please can I ask for a email in and I'll go over to the family house and look the stock out for you and contact offline.

Please can I also pass thanks onto the Mod Team  @Newportnobby @Bealman as I'm lead to believe from Chris you've helped out on a couple of things and is appreciated.

I may not see replies to the email, but I'm sure @crewearpley40 will let Andrew and myself know.

Regards to all
