thanks, Colin. Yes, I have been communicating with Andrea. Her response to me was "I am sorry but that is our standard rate to Australia per order (not item), most overseas customer do larger orders, just unfortunate that you have only ordered one N Gauge coach." No mention of DHL, but I will try again. I can go to plan B and have it posted to a UK relative, but I shouldn't need to do that.

I've just weighed a few Dapol models and estimate that, allowing for packaging, an order of say 8 locomotives or 12 coaches would each weigh less than 2 kg. I have also checked on my order for six pullmans from Revolution, and they are charging just £18!
