I've just crashed the search engine , so I'll try a new post.

Does anyone know when the Brighton Belle received the Small Yellow Panel to replace the crest? Is it possible to remove the SYP and add the crest?

Pullman livery with crest from 1938 - 1966 (ish)
Pullman livery with SYP from 1966 (ish) - 1969. In my notes I also have 1968 - 1969!
Blue-Grey livery form 1969 - 1972.

The main problem with the Hornby 1938 livery is the third class coaches are very clearly marked third class on the side of the coaches. It is part of the name panel. You can therefore only really run that livery until 1956.

You can do what you want amendment wise but I'd not want to mess with the nice livery as I'd not get an equivalent finish, and these Pullman liveried sets are "valuable" i.e. they are increasing in value rather than decreasing. Not so the blue grey, unfortunately.
