I hadn't realised there was a thread for these in the main discussion forum, so just to add here that Revolution had EP samples for the K-Type Pullmans on display at TINGS and there are few pics up on NGN.

They really are looking excellent!

Those EPs look lovely. I am sorely tempted but already have a rake of Met Cammell ones which don't fit a layout based on the GC London Extension, and because I have accumulated so much stuff under "Rule 1" I promised myself I would become more disciplined about purchases, buying only things that had a prospect of being seen on it.

However, it becomes veeery difficult to remain disciplined when models of such high quality keep being offered!

Having given in for another pack could i show my ignorance with a few questions about pullmans of this era ...
Are all pullman cars 'at seat dining'  or are parlour cars non dining ?
Think i read somewhere that the Kitchen end of kitchen cars always faced towards the centre of the train...rather than back to back,  is that right ?

Thanks chaps.

Livery samples have now arrived and photos of the VSOE coaches are now up here

They look stunning!

Hi there,

The information I have is that the Queen of Scots sets usually ran in fixed rakes of eight car as shown in this graphic.

Red is third class, Purple is first.  It seems that the Kitchens were towards the centre of each sub-section of the train, so enabling meals to be served to passengers in all seats.

The deadline for pre-ordering these models is the end of July, and we will be posting an update and more images, on our website shortly.

cheers

Ben A.

Brilliant, so each third  kitchen is serving approx two coaches worth of diners, the first kitchen about half as many diners... sounds about right.

Hi Ben

The progress poster at DEMU says the pullman deadline is July, which is correct? I need to get the funds together for at lease one rake of pullmans so wondering how long I have

Mike replied to this question on farcebook as 31 July

Apologies all for the rivett-counting but i would like to talk about wheels. Pullman coaches in Restored/Museum condition almost always have White painted wheel rims and sometimes umber centres ? B/w photos of them in real service tend not to show this.. is this just work grime hiding the livery or was the white wheel rim  really only applied to show ponies ?

Hi there,

The only images I have showing the cars with white wheel rims are those taken when the cars were fresh off the production line.  I do not have any images showing them in service where the wheels are anything other than dull dirty grey.

Once in service even freshly cleaned cars do not have decorated wheels.
