I had an email from Leigh Collett back in February 11th asking about the order I placed back in 2018 for my Gaugemaster 73's, which I was informed have still not been released yet and did I still want this left on pre order!

Want I can't quite understand about all this fiasco is why haven't these models materialised?  The tooling supposedly must be still at the factory.

Time is not on anyone's side either as material cost's have risen over the last three years. So the longer this is left the less viable the contract will be to manufacture these loco's.

So the question that crosses my mind, are those involved with fulfilling these orders are hoping people will give up so this problem will fade away?  Because the way I see things looking at the prices of models sold at today's prices these 73's should be at least £120.00 each and not £79.95!

The question has been posed again on their 'Digest' forum but I would not recommend you hold your breath for a reply. I think they've forgotten that platform even exists!

I'm still keeping everything crossed as I'm quite prepared to wait longer. The thing is would Dapol dare to commission a new run in a different livery when these orders are still current ?

The Class 73's are a private commission for Gaugemaster and this has extended the approval process somewhat. Best estimate would be mid summer for release.

Wonder if they're blaming Gaugemaster for the delay? :hmmm:
