Some more numbers to clarify or confuse:
7375 - Br 103 - 4/2
7335 - Br 110 - 4/7
733501 - Br 110 - 4 above 0 in a circle
7349 - Br 111 - Nothing
7334 - Br 140 - 2/7
7328 - Br 141 - 4/0
723101 - Br 212 - Nothing
723701 - Br 218 - Nothing

Nope - me neither!  :confused1:

daffy

Code numbers for the folks who assemble the model? Maybe 2 assemblers, one for chassis, other for body or final assembly? :hmmm:

Or a dastardly plot to confuse and confound model rail forum members. :D

In the past I've had the same interest in the production dates of Minitrix items especially older ones, but no-one out there could offer a definitive answer on how to decode the date from the control number - the format seemed to change over the decades :-(

I asked the question (in German...) on a German forum, and after one unhelpful (...) jokey response there were two serious response

So, it is a control code not a date as such. However one of the numbers is the last number of the year of the stamp. In the case of 0|7 the 7 is the year

Apparently it is a reference to work out the assembly history of  the model in case of a claim

This is becoming an interesting can of worms and my theories are rapidly being thrown out of the window. :D

TOP:   733901  New in 2008 (Says so on the box)

MIDDLE:   7342  Introduced 1993 (According to Spur-N-Datenbank)

BOTTOM:   7339  Introduced 2004 (According to Spur-N-Datenbank)

According to my new information, 733901 - 8 should be the year so 2008 matches

The middle one would be 1994, the bottom one would be 2003

@Jim Easterbrook   Your fault - you made me go look through the locos!!

This would seem to be conclusive evidence it's mm/y  if it is a date mark.  This is a loco I bought in the late 80s.

I'll see if I can find a 70s vintage with a mark. My old 2-10-0 probably had marks but they're worn off.

According to my new information 10 / 8 would be controller 10 in year x8. Late 80s purchase would suggest year as 1988
