@Newportnobby I don't know if you missed it last night but, just as it started snowing here last evening there was a sudden hailstorm on the M6/M61 junction which turned the motorway into an ice rink. There were multiple crashes involving about 30 vehicles. Fortunately there were no serious injuries but both motorways were closed for several hours. I spent the evening idling my time on my PC where the window overlooks Junction 28 on the M6 and there were blue lights flashing past every few minutes. There was only a smattering of snow when I went to bed and mostly gone when I got up this morning.

@Lankyman
I did hear the hail on my windows but knew nothing of the accidents, Ron.
Glad to hear no serious injuries were incurred.

Checking every morning but nothing yet.

Been hoping for a white christmas for ages.
To be called pompous and arrogant - hell of a come down.
I tried so hard to be snobbish and haughty.

Actually, by Aussie summer standards, Christmas Day here was quite cold. Bealman had a coat on after lunch outside!

Nothing in Peterborough as of 0700 but a look at Railcam shows an absolute blizzard in Doncaster.

I had my G scale plough out yesterday. There are some things you just can't do in N.
Working doesn't seem to be the perfect thing for me so I'll continue to play.

Another dusting this morning although it's already melting away. To my mind, just 2-3cms would be nice, just to make the world look better rather than all the grey.

A few minutes of snow in Chichester this morning at 9.15, melted as soon as it landed though. Still it looks pretty grey to the south so maybe more to come..

This is after the snowplough had done its job.

Just a touch in the back garden. Gone by evening.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

A bit more when I was working in Oslo. This fell overnight.

We had a little last evening (just enough to give a tiny dusting) and it has lingered this morning.
This is the view from our bedroom window as the sun rose earlier:

I'm sure I'll get used to cream first soon.

A light dusting here in Swindon this morning.
