New liveries for Dapol 156
« on: June 30, 2020, 08:39:12 PM »
Hi Gang,

Just received the Hatton’s newsletter with the good news that the Dapol 156 is going to have a chassis update and be retailed in two new liveries.
Finally, the Strathclyde Red livery makes the cut along with a Northern Rail scenic livery, although I think the plain Northern Rail livery might be a better seller.

What will be interesting to see if this will provide a fillip for the Revolution Class 320 to get the required numbers in Strathclyde Red. Here’s hoping!

Later,
Stu in EGYP.

Looking forward to seeing "The Ratty" 156 in N. I produced a set of vinyls specially for the railway as a special commission in OO and it has a lovely set of graphics. If Dapol's Ribblehead 156 is anything to go by, it should be excellent.

Strange they are not doing the new ex-Arriva version, though at the rate the logos are changing it is hard to keep up. It went from "Northern" to "Northern by Arriva", back to "Northern" and will soon be "NORTHERN".

You've lost me there, although that's pretty easy to do.

So "Northern", Purple, like the ones they did before including the S&C version.
"Northern by Arriva", the 'white' livery that Farish are doing on their new 150's.
"Northern", debranded Northern by Arriva livery?
"NORTHERN" ????

John P

All these branding changes have taken place on the new Blue / White livery. Now Northern is a DFT operation, they are changing the side branding to "NORTHERN" in uppercase. What a complete nightmare!
