I have just completed a small layout that I fitted onto a spare shelf I had. The theme is a harbour scene somewhere on the South Coast of England and shows my take on the preparations for Operation Overlord and the lead up to D Day on the 6th June 1944.

Following the completion of the layout I made a video of it for YouTube and have shared it here for forum members to see.

Best regards
Greg

Hello Richard, Do you mean the large landing ship docked in the harbour, the landing craft which is under repair on the quayside (the one with ladder at the stern) or the number of small landing craft between the Corvette and the Landing Ship? If you want to reply via PM it may be easier. Regards, Greg

I have been ask to post the suppliers of models used in building this layout. If it is any help to members with regards to where I purchased the military models, naval models, figures and buildings I have listed the manufacturers/suppliers below.

Railway Buildings, platform and harbour wall - Scalescenes downloadable card kits
Pillboxes and Nissen Hut - Metcalfe card kits
Landing Craft under repair on the quayside by castle - Trumpeter plastic model kits. Scale 1/144
Corvette Warship - Revell plastic model kits. Scale 1/144 HMS Buttercup. Hull cut down to display as a waterline model.
Landing ship, Landing craft, Military vehicles, Warwell rolling stock resin kits and white metal naval figures - Gramodels
Landing craft, Military vehicles and Military figures. White Metal kits - Arrowhead Miniatures
Harbour backscene - Freestone Model Accessories

Other items used were 3D printed.

Very inspirational Greg :)

Thank you for sharing. Being a WW II fan myself, I have been thinking of a layout with WW II theme.

Thank you for inspiring.
