No chips necessary!

Any thoughts about use in N?  Might need control of output voltage .

It’s just like a normal DC controller, only using a phone/tablet. The Bluetooth bit is pretty immaterial. A big meh from me.

I suppose it is a halfway house between traditional DC and DCC.  Interesting idea and may be it will be popular with younger modellers.  Personally, I would love to see the power source housed in the locos so we could potentially get rid of all wiring and control via Bluetooth.

Very interesting - thanks for posting. For people like me with a small 2-circuit layout and basic controllers, this seems like a useful step up in functionality for £25.

@Railwaygun

This might be of more interest in the DC section rather than DCC.

Agreed, it’s nothing to do with DCC at all.

Well, it’s digital control of analogue (DC) locos! Perhaps we need a new board....

As ro costs, you need a PSU for the basic box, but easily sourced but it could reduce the wiring needed for point control.

Let’s wait till it arrives!

Digital control because it uses your fingers?  :confused:

By any other name it’s just DC control with a phone. It’s not DCC.

Good idea though, probably needs a new sub-forum with 16 new sub-boards under that, one for each SKU they may offer!

Seems oddly similar to Blue Railways - http://www.bluerailways.co.uk/ I've been using their system for a couple of years now. It's wonderful. I don't use the app though, but it's great not having a wired connection and the control is very good indeed. Prefer it to Morley and Gaugemaster.

Not sure if it’s oddly similar, but certainly seems comparable. I’m still bemused by any suggestion this is in any way like DCC though. All it is is a wireless DC controller. I can see the appeal, mind.

If I did want to go down that route I'd want a hand-held controller with a proper knob like the BlueRailways system. I'm really not interested in operating by phone/tablet.

You may laugh, but back in the days when my lad was young we did actually try out his RC Hornby Thomas controllers on my N layout and it was quite fun  if a bit coarse control :D

Agreed, Despite being welded to my phone permanently I much prefer a physical interface to a touchscreen one for controlling trains.
