Hi from Northern Ireland :D
« on: March 08, 2020, 09:59:39 PM »
Hi Guys, cheers for having me on board and apologies in advance for all the future questions I will be bugging you with!

Short intro being that I have a young cousin and uncle that are very interested in trains and having their own 00 layout, I wanted one of my own, for a few reasons, I love model building and painting, I may not be any good, but I love it and the same with wiring, being a Forklift Engineer/Low Loader Operator, I love wiring, so have a few ideas in mind for my layout :)

So, cheers for having me ladies and gents!

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

Hi R80DVY and welcome to the forum from over the border, whereabouts in the North are you? When you are ready, ask away - plenty of talented and knowledgeable people will be happy to answer your questions.

Hi again guys, appreciate the warm welcome! I haven't been a member of a forum for years!

Hi R80DVY and welcome.

We're a nosey lot here so more info required please, layout era, location etc.

Glad you joined and hope you have fun.

Cheers weave  :beers:

By even joining a forum that makes me nosy also! :D I Am pretty confused by which era I want to go for, I love the idea of diesel sheds, but love being able to run older stuff, so I'm thinking of designing my layout like one of the local private railways (Downpatrick & County Down Railway) So I can have the weird, wonderful and interesting all in one place without them looking stupid and being able to keep my trackside to the modern era :)

Hi R80DVY and welcome to the forum from over the border, whereabouts in the North are you? When you are ready, ask away - plenty of talented and knowledgeable people will be happy to answer your questions.

Hi Pal, I'm Portadown based, but work as a lowloader driver for a Forklift leasing company, so travel all over Ireland :) For example, tomorrow I head to Dublin for a few drops, then overnight in Dublin then for Limerick Wednesday :)  Just from browsing after registering I can see the talent and helpfulness, cheers for having me :D

Hi, and welcome to the forum

Not that we're at all nosey - oh no

Space is yet to be determined, I am lucky enough to have bought a 3 bedroom home with an office extension with my fiance last year, since having no kids, I have claimed the office as my man cave, as she has a bedroom as her makeup and nail studio, but I have yet to decide if I want to create something to take to shows, something I can pack up to take to my cousins, at this point, I'm gathering the initial design process can be quite stressful!

I like what DCC can provide, but I think DC will give more of a challenge with sensors and switches!

Cheers again everyone :)
