I'm sure a forlorn hope, but has anyone

[1] built the Airfix 1:72 Valiant kit

and

[2] not used the weapons loads, either the multiple 1,000lb bomb carriers [ 3 x 5 bombs plus 2 x 3 bombs] or the instant sunshine bomb.

if anyone has, would they be willing to sell the weapons loads parts for me to use in a couple of dioramas ?

please PM me if you can help.

regards
alan

Evening Alan I hope you and your good lady are well and surviving the grim weather??

We actually have all 3 V bombers which might get built at some point, dad was at RAF Gaydon till its closure in '66 so has always had a soft spot for all 3, in particular the Valiant, I prefer the Victor but.....

I shall find out what weapons he wants on the Valiant and will be in touch!!

:beers: Craig

hi Craig,

apart from the usual colds etc, not too bad here. of course, Husky can't see why dad keeps sniffling and he's getting shorter walks.  the fields are like bogs at the moment, so he's wearing his claws down on the pavements instead.

many thanks. got x 2 of the Vulcans [ XH558 version] plus the old Matchbox / Revell Victor K.2.

been after several of the Valiants, but they are going for silly money.

I haven't forgotten your parcel, but found some other bits that might be of interest, so I need a bigger box  :)

sections 19 / 20 / 21 show the bits I'm looking for.

:uneasy: I can imagine klaxons sounding and lights flashing at GCHQ as the machine learning technology picks up on the weapons trading discussion in this thread(!). :D

it's ok
acko22 can't call in airstrikes on me .......

at least I don't think he can  :worried:

:dighole:

 :laughabovepost:

Tell me about it  :'( Our fields are just lakes and have been first nearly 5 weeks!!!

No rush on the parcel, I'll dig out the instructions and sprues, see what he wants and see if the left overs are any good to you

cheers, so have the cows and sheep got water wings, or are you going to move into duck farming  :smiley-laughing:

did manage to snag a proper Canberra the other day, the Airfix B.2, rather than the Revell PR.7/9 one.

always thought the pimple on the top spoilt a really graceful aircraft, mind you did like the T.17s we used to get in sometimes.

Cows are in shed as the fields they graze in are underwater but sheep are still running with the tups so had to shift upto as high as we could to let them run.

will it be ok as long as I comply with the various nuclear proliferation treaties ?  :smiley-laughing:

just scored a Victor B.2, so another Blue Steel to be brought into service  :smiley-laughing:

the plan, if all works out / prices are right, is for

[1] Vulcan in o/a white anti-flash with Blue Steel
[2] Vulcan in light a/c grey under surfaces and grey / green disruptive upper surfaces
[3] Victor in o/a white anti-flash with Blue Steel
[4] Victor K.2 in light a/c grey under surfaces and grey / green disruptive upper surfaces
[5] Valiant in o/a white anti-flash, with 'instant sunshine'

of course, SWMBO could always find out what is going on, but hey x2 Vulcans is better than x  :hmmm: class 37s / 47s etc ::)

guest311

while waiting for my Victor B.2 to arrive, I looked at the instructions on the Airfix website .....

and was surprised to see that the Blue Steel missile in this kit is not the same as the one in the Vulcan B.2,
which consists of about three parts, the one in the newer Victor B.2 has seven.

I was quite expecting the Vulcan version to be used again.

now all I need is a bomb trolley for the Blue Steel

NGS-PO

I have the 72nd scale Valient, and will be building it as the PR version so the weap NZ will be superfluous. Drop me a PM with your details if you still need them.

Best

If you know someone who's depressed, please resolve never to ask them why. Depression isn't a straightforward response to a bad situation; depression just is, like the weather.Try to understand the blackness, lethargy, hopelessness, and loneliness they're going through. Be there for them when they come through the other side. It's hard to be a friend to someone who's depressed, but it is one of the kindest, noblest, and best things you will ever do."

with two offers of Valiant weapons fit parts, I have suddenly realised that I have a glaring omission in my plan .....

heavy duty bomb trolleys

so, may I extend this post to include a plea for any members who may have unused bomb trolley parts from the Airfix 1:72 Dam Busters Lancaster kits.

the bomber command resupply sets, either in Lancaster kits or on their own, tend to provide the lighter bomb trolleys, but the Dam Busters Lancaster kit included a much heavier duty trolley for the bomb.

off the top of my head, the parts would be....
bomb trolley
cradle
tow bar
4 x wheels

as Clint would say ....

make my day  >:D
