Military Model Kits
« on: November 06, 2019, 01:42:28 PM »
I am in the process of building a dockside scene as a small shelf layout measuring four feet by one foot. I have decided that I would like the layout to be themed as preparations in 1944 for the D day landings. I want to show the quayside full of authentic military hardware of the time and also some naval shipping moored at the dockside. Please can anyone recommend manufacturers who make suitable construction kits.
Best regards
Greg

If you look through the military section on here you will find a lot of info, it depends on whether you want British \ Commonwealth or American. Shipping may be more of an interesting challenge, a few kits about search 1\144, 1\146, and see what comes up again nation may be a limiting factor.

allegedly Butlers models will print in N (10mm) on request. worth a try

look on the 10mm website (see below) amd run through entries in the Military section.

also look at Gramodels, Oxford models ( churchill. lorries, Dingoes, jeeps, m/cs, ), Pegasus make landing craft, and i have model;s of Higgs Boats ( ? source),

Oxford models range ( most, other liveries available)

and here

https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?board=146.0

also google the D-Day departure (Southampton) model - its 12' long but has enough hardware to keep you occupied with ideas ( its OO)

revell armour ( a lot cheaper)

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Revell-ARMY-VEHICLES-WWII-Model/dp/B011RCHH3M

try an ebay / google search for N scale armour / N gauge armour or 1/148/160/144 armour military
