Another plea for help.Minitrix 0-6-0 drive gear
« on: October 12, 2019, 03:18:37 PM »
Hi
As some of you are aware I am embarking on a new N gauge build and have inherited some Minitrix stock, having sussed a few of the issues with them.
My dad today has donated an 0-6-0 Minitrix loco but the gear on the drive axle is split and subsequently won’t turn the wheels. The motor is fine and wheels are free but with the gear being split it doesn’t have any friction to turn the loco axle, does anyone know where a new drive axle can be sourced?
Thanks
Ian

I've got Minitrix spares from the Railway Doctor in the past. Here's his contact details : http://raildoc.co.uk/

It's not obvious he is still in business.

Good luck Norman

Which loco exactly?  I presume you mean the little Dock Tank, or the old German T3 which uses the same chassis?

Those old locos turn up regularly on ebay and 2nd hand trade stands quite cheaply, so you could always look for a cheap donor.

Seen this?

There are a number of 060’s on eBay at the moment - look for spares’n repair or junk box at local MRS.

Cheers,

If its the middle wheelset I've just removed one to convert to a 0-4-0 Peckett using a shapeways print.
You can have it with pleasure.

Did you get this sorted ? What exactly do you need - just the drive axle with the gear ?

Send me an email alert if you reply.  I am not sure this forum sends one automatically, and I don't visit too often.
