I don't see how they can't. If they work on DC (which they appear to) then they'll work on DCC without a chip, unless they've been deliberately awkward!

When I read the aforementioned blurb, I'm pretty sure I saw that the lights would work on DC when power was applied and constantly when on DCC, the chip was just to allow specific control.

Yes my bad, having checked the spec on Hattons' website it says: -

Lighting
Lit and unlit versions of each coach available
Warm LEDs used on lit versions
18-pin decoder socket in lit models for digital control
Lights will come on when power is applied through the track for analogue users or on digital without a decoder

That link's no good unless you subscribe to the group.

Do you think you could copy and paste the relevant bits, or alternatively give us the gist of it.

Sorry, I didn't appreciate that one had to be a member to read the group threads.

Hopefully Maurice at Osborne's won't mind me copying and pasting, which is done in good faith and with due credit. The photograph is Maurice's copyright:

Hi all
a while back someone mentioned the current  lack of 4-wheeled coaches in N and I was thinking along similar lines so I designed a standard 4 wheeled chassis and a range of 4 body types to add to our eventual range of laser cut period coach kits we intend to release.
Here is the first test build of one type with metal wheels and 3D printed buffers. Just got to finalise the couplings and I think it is good to go.
Simple to construct but with approx. 39 parts is quite time consuming, but hey what's the rush this is supposed to be a pastime isn't It?
Any suggestions and comments welcome

EDIT: There is mention of Clerestory bogie carriages both GWR and NER.
