Topic begun yesterday:-

https://www.ngaugeforum.co.uk/SMFN/index.php?topic=46668.msg592145#msg592145

 :-[  :confused1:  ???

Oops.  :sorrysign:

In my defence, yer 'onour, most threads commenting on Society journals are to be found in this 'ere 'N Gauge Society' section. When I was looking to see if anyone had started one I didn't think to look under 'N Gauge Discussion'.

Still, I appear to be of the same opinion as many comments on t'other thread.

Cheers,

Chris

And thanks for the clarity of your own article.....

Agree with all the other comments - a very good magazine. The first one was getting there, but absolutely nothing wrong in this edition. I've only had time for a quick flick through (getting married today so not much free time!) but should be able to have a proper read next week. A good variation of articles too, especially that one about melting lumps of metal together by some Steve bloke...

Thank you guys and congratulations 5944!

Half way through reading mine and realised how easy to read it was. Thanks for increasing the font size.

I think the new cleaner clearer page layout makes the size of the journal less of an issue. I now donít have a preference for either A5 or A4 so I can sit on the fence reading my copy  :D

Wouldn't A5 be less of an issue than A4?  (Sorry! :))

Can only echo the above posts, a really good magazine with some interesting articles - I found the soldering one particularly useful.

Also flattered to have my own layout featured on the centre page spread  :bounce:

Re. the A4 or A5 debate - I'm not particularly fussed either way however I did see a copy of the N Gauge Now magazine recently which is A4 and thought the photos were very poor quality. I know nothing about publishing but maybe photos which are blown up to A4 size will limit the editors in what they can use??

The image quality in N Gauge Now was discussed at length, the physical size of the magazine needn't impact this, unless you're getting in very low quality images, in which case I'd simply suggest they're not suitable for publication. I've never seen any such problems in any A4 magazine.

I'm broadly indifferent to the size. I did enjoy this Journal, Steven's soldering article is excellent, despite having read much of it here!

:thankyousign: Thanks, I hope with the editors permission that I can do some detailed and specific articles about Shirebrook in the future.
Cheers
Duncan
I love Duncanís Shirebrook layout, so enjoyed the front cover. Thatís as far as Iíve got, I suspect removal from the plastic will be necessary next  :confused1:
