Does anyone know why TINGS seems to have slipped back a week or so? Or is it my imagination? Or teh vagaries of aiming for the 2nd weekend in September or something?

I ask because we have a young granddaughter in Rugby and initially we could visit TINGS on the same weekend as going up for her birthday. But 2019 and 2018 we couldn't. Can't in 2020 either.

For fairly obvious reasons we're not wildly keen on driving up to TINGS from South Wales a week after going up to see the family.

Just curious.
I don't think it's slipped or moved. It still clashes with the Faversham show.

Hi

I have some photos when I helped with an exhibit there in 2010 but the date on the files on the PC is 20/09/2010. I doubt I was there the weekend of 18/9 - 19/9 as my wife's Birthday is one of those days which would suggest it was the weekend before 11/9 - 12/9 the second weekend in September.

10/9 - 11/9 in 2011
8/9 - 9/9 in 2012
14/9 - 15/9 in 2013
13/9 - 14/9 in 2014
12/9 - 13/9 in 2015
10/9 - 11/9 in 2016
9/9 - 10/9 in 2017
8/9 - 9/9 in 2018
14/9 - 15/9 in 2019

As can be seen the start date of the second weekend in September can be between 8/9 and 14/9.

Cheers

Paul

I'm reliably informed that Meridienne are trialling a phone booster in a couple of weeks. If successful they'll be installing one permanently.

Thanks. it's the 2nd Saturday thing. Her birthday is the 4th September, so it's only when TINGS is at its earliest that we're likely to coincide. (I was wrong about 2018 - we did attend then.)

Bother. It may be a few years before we make it to TINGS again. :(

Don't be daft...

Hi
Phone knots are a problem the landlines on the main road were stolen a while back and replacement is about that only !
Quite a few traders did ok and I think its how the card payers are set up - worth checking with the folk at the centre for best tech to use.
Phone boosters in use in many places with mixed results as it depends on whose network it is based around.
Still it will mean more folk walking into posts and other people as seen to day in a wet brum !

Well, my plans to go to TINGS 2019 were well and truly thwarted by my operation, hospitalisation, and ultralong recovery time, and as I write this on April 1st 2020, it looks like it won't be happening this year either  :'(

That's if it's on at all in this current uncertain state of affairs.

sounds like you will have to reschedule to next year, may have to look at going for that show myself.

...and I notice that the EM Gauge has rescheduled expoEM Autumn from the same weekend as TINGS to the week prior. I had been looking at going over to do St Andrews, Inverness, Skye, Mallaig, Glasgow, NYMR, GCR, TINGS, expoEM, and possibly a quick over channel trip to the Louvre, but when all this started a while ago, I lost interest for this year. Hopefully I can make it and get it all done in 2021.

My last trip was business, but allowed me to attend the IMREX exhibition, but that was way back in 1992.
