Evening all

Weighbridge has now been installed. Just need to add all the other associated bits now then paint / weather. All the effort I put into the weighbridge office and all you see is the chuffing rear :hmmm: :smiley-laughing:

Weighbridge length is 100mm and I have used embossed plasticard (not brick) The pattern actually represents a cast iron top. All rail fixings were removed before glueing down in place.

Cheers

Cheers mate.

As I have wrote above, all you will see is the damn rear! All that effort and all that :smiley-laughing: Hopefully I'll be able to squeeze my camera in for a front shot once all is complete...

A wee close up and arty farty shot of the now weathered overhead gantry crane. Note Cyril the seagull...

This is a Vollmer kit, which has been built and modified. The original width of the crane beam was 180mm wide, but I have cut this down to 120mm to span the 2 tracks.

I do have some lovely code 40 rail which will act as the ground runners for this. I shall be installing this soon.

This is kit number 47901. I actually purchased this from KJB Models, who are a Vollmer stockist, but obviously I has preformed a cut and shut on this one to make it narrower to span the 2 tracks.

This little lot should keep me busy for a while. Had this lot in my possession for some time now, knew it would come in handy one day :smiley-laughing:

Another little project nearly complete is this Dornaplas Ford Cargo fuel tanker. No loco depot around these neck of the woods, so a road tanker would have to visit every now and then to quench the 08's thirst with a tipple of diesel.

Also I've been brick wall spotting today! Spotted this whilst parked in a local car park. Nice bit of inspiration for a perimeter wall here. Wall is roughly 6' in height (that's 10mm in 2mm) Never got a tape measure to hand when I need one!

Evening all

A little static grass has been laid today. I'm certainly going for that typical unloved, overgrown, run down look of a yard...

Note the masking tape is there just to protect the blue backscene whilst weathering the ballast / trackwork. We have a brick wall too... A mix of 2mm light and dark shades have been used.

Resident 'Gronk' 08601 rests under the gantry crane with a single ZDA BASS. I see Cyril the seagull is still in attendance. The only scraps you'll find around here mate are metal ones!

Just adding a little static grass has really made a huge difference to the look! I haven't knuckled down to anything like this for years!! I'm Really enjoying it 8) Track has been weathered with a mix of Humbrol smoke and dark earth powders. Normally I'm an airbrush man, but these powders seem pretty good. No ned to seal in either, just blow off the excess. It's like it dyes the ballast and sleepers.

Some of the yard clutter being 'test' fitted. Still a lot more to add...

Cheers
