After repeatedly checking our post box and still no journal - things often take an extra day to arrive in the wilds of Norfolk. My membership has just expired doh!, just renewed it so hopefully the current issue will arrive soon.

My copy arrived here in Oriental climes yesterday; I haven't had time to read much yet but the new font/layout is certainly very nice

Yep, mine just arrived on Antipodean shores today. Like Squiddy, I've only had a quick glance through it, but first impressions are very favourable.

Like others, I like the clean, uncluttered look. The abundance of full page photos is also a positive with me.

Impressive debut, Neale!

My copy arrived yesterday and I have to agree with the comments about the 'new' look. It definitely seems easier to read, not that I am complaining about the 'old' look.

If last issue is anything to go by, mine will be here in about a week, shame really as I wanted to take it with me on Monday when I go away for 4 weeks working in Cambodia.

wow George you have a greater amount of faith in Australia Post than I do, and I've always thought of myself as an optimist.

I'm in New Zealand for work this week - won't get to see mine until tomorrow night...
Still planning a layout...

Great start  I liked your front cover too.

One of my favourite regular features is International Bits & Bobs, and I hope you'll keep that going. I don't remember seeing much about new products from that hive of N gauge activity on the far side of the world. If only you knew an enthusiast in Japan.  :hmmm:

Alternatively, perhaps Keith or the entrepreneurial Mr Kato could be persuaded to send an envelope every couple of months of new odds and ends which can easily get overlooked. Maybe their competition would join in then!

One article stands out for follow up. Neil Walker writes that

Quote
The next outing for 'Newlingham' is the Birtley MRE Exhibition in March 2019 so there is plenty of time to make any necessary adjustments.

How soon could you publish an update? :)

As soon as he writes one!

But seriously, I'm trying to "spread the love" as much as possible, and publish stuff from the greatest range of authors as possible. However good a layout is, I don't personally feel it should be a feature article more than once in the Journal, and while further articles from that author would be welcomed, I'd be looking for articles describing something new, such as kit building or electronics.

I've got a healthy pile of articles that should get me through at least the next issue and a good way into the one after that. One or two are from the same authors, but these are either short articles (a page or two) or else cover dissimilar topics. So hopefully readers will find each new issue fresh and engaging.

What's been really pleasing is how many people have offered up either photos or articles. Keep 'em coming is what I say to you all -- even if you don't think you're a good writer, don't worry, I'll fix the grammar and spelling. It's your ideas, skills, opinions, and experiences that I want!

Cheers, NeMo

ah well, mine still hasn't arrived and I leave this evening, my lack of faith in Aussie Post is justified once again. Look forward to reading it in September.
