Nick at Nbrass Locos
« on: June 22, 2019, 09:02:08 PM »
I just want to say what a fine chap Nick at Nbrass Locos is.
Ive been after a code 40 track gauge from Nbrass Locos but the manufacture is proving difficult according to Nick. So what he has done is to supply a partially usable gauge free of charge. He wouldn't even let me pay for the postage! (The offer is only available for people who have placed their orders before Feb).

I just wanna say  :thankyousign:

cheers
Kirky

After using some very simple components from Nick, I optimistically bought two GWR 6-ton yard crane kits, and was daunted by the complexity of the construction and size of the miniscule parts.  :worried: After making lots of other bits and pieces there was nothing for it but to start the kits.  But when I began, I found that I had opened one of the kits to read the instructions and had misplaced the casting of the post on which the whole crane is built.  I phoned to ask if I could buy a replacement and was told one would be in the post the next day - no charge!
The friendly encouragement I also received gave me the momentum to persevere and the first crane is now awaiting a paint job. It is the most difficult model I have made, but really satisfying - so much so that I am looking forward to crane number two!  A really big  :thankyousign: to Nick for the skill in making the kit and the attitude to customer relations!
Perhaps the proof that there is intelligent life in outer space is that they haven't contacted us.

Here's my first try at the GWR 6-ton crane.  Not perfect, as I had to brush on the paint - no airbrush - but I'm quite pleased!

Just wanted to put some feedback on here.

Ordered some bits from N Brass over the weekend, had confirmation of items in stock, PayPal invoice and posted on Monday.

Received the items in the post today, well packed.

Excellent service, I'll definitely be using them again.

I've dealt with Nick multiple times through email and at various shows, infact if Nick is at a nearly local show I generally go to them to pick up bits and have a chat with him, the first time I met him he was probably 20years older then I imagined BUT

ALWAYS first class service
ALWAYS wants to help you out
ALWAYS will do you a good deal

He is a fantastic contact and will do everything possible to make sure you get your complete order promptly. He was very disappointed at TINGS that 1 item of my 50item list was missing!! And I was told to email he straight away and he would send them onto me once he was back from the show and found the item!!

I wish more business owners were as passionate about their customer experience.

Cant rate them highly enough.

Its really nice to know that other people have had such excellent service from Nick.

On a more general note - its one of the things that gives me a nice warm feeling about our hobby - that there are such nice decent people supporting us.
Again  :thankyousign:

I have been a very satisfied customer and talked to Nick a couple of times at exhibitions - a lovely man.  How he maintains the huge inventory, I do not know.

Well the legendary Mr Nick Tilston yet again impressed me immensely this week.

I emailed him on monday with a list of items to check availability, he pretty much came straight back to me with a personal reply, not a generic out of office email to tell me he was enjoying a long weekend away and was back Wednesday so would be in touch.

By 9am Wednesday nick confirmed 1 of  the items were currently unavailable and he only had 2 of an item I wanted 3 of. Invoice sent and I immediately replied and paid.

7am Thursday an email to tell me all was packaged and had been sent. Sure enough at lunchtime today my box of goodies is in my post box.

This gentleman works tirelessly to deliver and ensure we get what we want, all of this during the run up to Warley which I really thought he would want to postpone orders until afterwards.

I cannot speak highly enough of this man and hope he has yet another successful Warley show.

He spent most of his holiday with his feet up in the rain apparently  ;D

At this time of year Nick becomes a mince pie bandit. He can sniff them out and consume them in the blink of an eye.
How does he stay so thin?
