Hello
« on: December 13, 2018, 04:39:43 PM »
Hello from Huddersfield, I have just started in model railways, after having spent the last 30odd years building and flying rc scale aircraft. I do a bit of steam photography and 3d printing, and have started building my layout, and Metcalf kits, love steam!
Hoping to trade advice ect !
Thanks
Paul.

Welcome aboard Paul.
If it looks right then it most probably is right.

We are a nosey lot on here, so like plenty of pictures of what you are doing. If you have any questions, donít be afraid to ask. The search button is your friend and you will find that most questions have been asked before.
Good luck with the layout.
The years have been good to me, it was the weekends that did the damage.

Welcome aboard, Paul.

I'm a steam enthusiast as well and my little layout reflects this.

Best wishes.

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1920s to the 1950s.

Hi Paul and welcome to the forum. Glad to see somebody else likes Metcalfe kits, once you get into them, they are quite easy to alter to make them a little bit different. I am originally from Bradford and get back there 2 or 3 times a year.

Addit: Going on your forum name, were the r/c aircraft twin engined? (Sorry!).

One or two twins plus a 4 !!
I am going DCC late steam but not tying myself down to a particular area, but leaning to GWR  🙂.
I have a purpose built workshop that I had for building which will now house my layout itís 4.5 meters x 3 so I am planning on an L shape with a 1x1 meter bump in the middle for my factory/ houses.
Itís 700mm wide, I donít particularly like to see engines go round and round so I have built 2 helixes to take the tracks down under the layout back and back up to come through again. There are a few photos on the FB forum .
Havet got the hang of posting photos on here yet.
Thanks for the welcome.

Always found 4 big fans on the front were best, ask Albert  ;)
That's a lot of space for a layout Paul, just crying out for some US long hauls or perhaps some Japanese Shinkansens going at full pelt    :laugh3:
