I'm not sure what an x-5-x refers to

Hello Mike

It's probably best described as a variation on the 'Whyte Notation' that uses axles, rather than wheels.  Under this system Clan Line is a 2-3-1, rather than a 4-6-2.

Of course, the Bulleid 'Pacifics', when introduced, used a different notation, derived from French practice, and again using axles - 21C.  Not too far removed from what was then used for diesel and electric traction.

With best wishes.

John

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

Oh dear
I ordered a third one.

That makes BR Green lined, BR Green unlined, and BR Black.
Its the black one that I really wanted, plus ideally I would have had a lined green one, moderately weathered.
I just cant decide which pristine green one I can work with (and get renumbered) but the one I have dipped out on is the heavily weathered one. I'd have to see it in the flesh to decide.

Anyone would think I was a WR modeller!

Best
Bob

@red_death I thought the deadline was tonight?

I wanted to order another BR black one but the website's showing the newer price. Have I missed the deadline then?

Just for clarity, the price rise will take effect after 2359 tonight (not Wednesday night).

Cheers Mike

They are still available to order but at the normal retail price. We kept them at a very discounted price for a lot longer than we anticipated but we’ve been warning for some time now that we expected the discount to end very soon.

It was dependent on various other things including quantity of the production run and a few other things that will be announced in the future.

Rails of Sheffield now have all the old and new Sonic 56xx models on their site, plus an announcement that they have exclusive rights to distribute the 56xx. See below and https://railsofsheffield.com/news/articles/3373-sonic-models-n-gauge-56xx

Revolution Trains in conjunction with Sonic Models recently announced the attractive GWR/BR 56XX 0-6-2T in N Gauge.
Today six additional variants have been added to the line up, meaning a total of twelve versions are available to pre-order.
Pre-Order Yours Today For £109.95 each
The models will feature coreless motors, NEM 6 pin decoder socket, NEM couplers, original or later style driving wheel balance weights, Swindon or Armstrong (NE) safety valves, detailed cab interior and accessory detail pack.

The complete list of 12 models is as follows:
S2101-01 – 5637. BR lined green, late crest.
S2101-01A – 5643. BR lined green, late crest. New.
S2101-02 – 6681. BR lined green late crest (small) weathered.
S2101-03 – 5633. BR unlined green, late crest.
S2101-04 – 6639. BR unlined black, early emblem.
S2101-04A – 5619. BR unlined black, early emblem. New.
S2101-05 – 5616. GW unlined green with GWR shaded lettering.
S2101-06 – 6623. GW unlined green with GREAT WESTERN lettering.
S2101-06A – 6671. GW unlined green with GREAT WESTERN lettering. New.
S2101-07 – 5609. GW unlined green with shirtbutton logo. New.
S2101-08 – 6602. BR unlined black with BRITISH RAILWAYS letting. New.
S2101-09 – 5644. GW Unlined green with plain GWR block lettering. New.

Rails of Sheffield is now handling all orders and fulfilment of these models exclusively. (Customers who have already ordered via Revolution Trains, these orders will continue to be processed and despatched by Revolution Trains)

Expected Q3 2020
With a limited production run of each variant, pre-ordering is highly recommended.

The pre-order page is here: https://railsofsheffield.com/groups/3039/n-gauge-class-56xx

Enjoy

Very interesting! I wonder if it would be possible to swap out one of my existing pre-orders for one of the newly announced liveries... Not a huge issue if not, but if it's easy enough to do I wouldn't mind swapping a black BR emblem out for the lettered version...

But Rails say Revolution are not dealing with the sales of the new models, so you would have to cancel an order with Revolution at £81.50 and order a new one from Rails at £109.95.
Why not get both :)

Is Q3 2020 now the ETA for the entire run or just for these new versions?

For the entire run - they are all being produced together. Production is starting at the moment.

I wonder if it would be possible to swap out one of my existing pre-orders for one of the newly announced liveries... Not a huge issue if not, but if it's easy enough to do I wouldn't mind swapping a black BR emblem out for the lettered version...

Covered on our website - I'm afraid not as we're not taking orders for any of the new versions (or indeed any versions now as Rails will be handling all new orders, any existing orders will still be handled by us). If anyone wants to change livery versions to one of the new versions then we will of course offer a full refund so that you can place an order with Rails.

Cheers Mike

Ah gotcha, sorry hadn't read the website, naughty me! No problem, I probably can't justify a fourth and I'm happy with my fully paid out three so we'll stick with what we've got! I'm very excited to see them roll out!
