They were part of a set produced for B&W clients which included these three wagons, a BR 2-6-0 tender loco, an oval of track with a rerailer and a mains transformer/controller. Now very rare as packaging wasn’t too solid and many of the sets were broken up and items sold individually. The wagons have turned up individually on ebay from time to time over the years  ..... at the end of my Flickr album there should be a short video clip of the set.

Hi Chas,

They are cool and I do keep my eye out for them on eBay.  Only ever seen one come up but that went for more than £50!

Kind regards

Some months ago, I bought four Graham Farish No. 2211 Stephenson Clarke Mineral Wagons. Later, I was the successful eBay bidder for another lot of these wagons but have just discovered that instead of the Stephens Clarke wagons I received nine wagons by Graham Farish #377-075V 7 Plank Fixed End Wagon, Warwick Gas Light Co "produced exclusively for Castle Trains". My layout is GWF simulating the junction at Westbury, Wilts, and I thought the SC wagons would work perfectly in a rake between the southern coast and the midlands. Be that as it may, I'm not unhappy with the Warwick wagons, as I bought them for a very good price. I'm uncertain, however, if a rake of these wagons would be appropriate on one of my lines - London - Weymouth, Bristol - Portsmouth, and Chippenham - Salisbury. Comments would be appreciated.

Leon, I think that for your period those Warwick Gas Light wagons would be fine.
I’ve no idea if the company was still in operation in your timescale but let’s pretend that they are and have just won a contract to supply new gas lamps to a southern town (eg Weymouth).
A train of materials may well travel south to Bristol then via Bath, Trowbridge and Westbury towards Weymouth.
You might want to make tarpaulins to cover the wagons though so they don’t look empty.

Just an idea.

Martin, that's an excellent idea and totally satisfactory for my purposes. They'll be returning empty, though, so I'll just need to weather the interior walls and bottoms of the wagons. Please don't make me construct tarps!!!   :D I AM getting on with construction, though. I'm in the middle of building Wiltsbury Station (Metcalf kit). I'm even going to try and modify the kit to better fit my space. This is almost fun!  :)

Jolly good!
Can you just check those last two CMC wagons aren’t different NR-P numbers!
Managed to get Malc’s latest (2 different running numbers!) and Thewagonyard’s already by post before the show. Will check out CMC’s website. Was expecting some private owner wagons too!
Was there nothing from Gaugemaster (rumoured Dapol private owner 7-planks)?
Glad it was a fruitful show anyway!
Have you already got Philip Ford’s latest George Giles in grey? (Hailsham Club)
A busy year!

Hi Chas,

Sorry, mistyped it.

Peco/Cheltenham Model Centre NR-P1025 5-plank wagon “English China Clays” 490

I didn't spot the other one on Malc's stall. It was a bit busy! I'm guessing that the other is the "b" version.

Nothing from Gaugemaster. I'm not sure if the chap I spoke to was joking but he suggested "next year"!

The Wagon Yard website has the two new tanker wagons announced but not listed (nor pictured) as yet. I guess they'll get around to it once they have recovered from TINGS!

The CMC website is stuck pre-TINGS. Awaiting their announced new website …. so no mention of the new PECO wagons there either …

Malcs Models don't mention the Gedling wagons on either their website or their Facebook page … yet!

Derails also claim to have a new website up and running … but there is no trace of their Ltd Ed wagon releases at all, neither past, current nor future!

At least PECO's website has pictures of both "Lunt" and of the three other announced wagons which are due over the next few months ...

Derails ltd editions are back up on their website but no new liveries yet.
Millennium Models have commissioned a PECO 7-plank wagon in “Leeds Industrial Cooperative Society Limited” red livery in aid of Morley MRC in time for their show on Saturday 12th October 2019.
Swansea RMC are not going to produce a second run of this year’s Dapol 7-plank “FE Poole” with a different running number as there is not sufficient demand.
?Only 16 N-gauge versions remained unsold and all other scales are sold out?
Oh well, we’ll have to wait until next summer to see what is decided for their 2020 offering.
Warley club were not intending to produce an N-gauge wagon for this year’s show but are in discussions with thewagonyard for a possible link-up?
Expecting another running number variant of the red “George Giles” on behalf of the Hailsham MRC probably in December.
Cheltenham Model Centre’s website is still not updated but their latest triplet of wagons is available by other means ... a 12T parcels van and a couple of different china clay 5-planks.
That’s all for now

Following on from the above, I contacted Pennine Wagons by email and have just had a reply. Yes, there are two more wagons due in the next few weeks and they will be appearing on the website. If you are on their mailiing list, you will receive a notification. :)
