Watneys Scammell

Just a bit of fun! Photo highlights the mediocre paint job - I'll improve it later - but you get the idea!
OD BRS Scammell with trailer sides cut back. Skytrex 00 barrels.
Red barrel - paper wrapped around cocktail stick.

Cheers

Why Oh Why would anyone want to recall that stuff????     What we want is Watneys???

I suppose anyone who drank the stuff  "back in the day" can always recall waking up with a clear head.

FANTASTIC model however...   Jerry

What a lovely model!! Triple

The red barrel fashioned from a cocktail stick and paper is pure genius.

However, I have to agree with the comments about the beer  :sick2: :sick2:

If that's a mediocre paint job, I'd better give up now! I'll accept that the red barrel could be bettered, but the truck and the big barrels look great.

but the truck . . . look great.

Please don't be under the delusion that I'm responsible for the finish of the cab! I chose the BRS model because I didn't need to paint it.

The discharge tube is Ratio down pipe. Flats were filed onto the barrels so that they sat square on the trailer bed. Initially held in place with little pieces of double sided tape, the bed was then drilled and screws (the type OD uses to hold its models onto their packaging) put through into the barrels to hold them securely.

The rear wheels and mudguards were removed by drilling out the fixing whilst the trailer was being modified and then glued back after the barrels had been fitted.

Other barrels may be better. The Skytrex ones are designed to be stood up so only have planking detail on one end.

Cheers
