Hurrah, I've phoned ÖBB and managed to get my rail tickets cancelled in return for vouchers. They're valid till 2030

2030! . Do they know something we don't?  :hmmm:
And here's me thinking Matt meant 8.30 pm....  :confused1:

My order from Menzel's just arrived, containing my 40th birthday present to myself  :D

Bought a REE Hanjin container wascosa thingummy whatnot (to go with existing Maersk of same sort).

Plus I felt my layout was lacking in VW Microbuses, so bought a couple more  :smiley-laughing:

The Globibahn stakeholders met today with major central European railway CEOs and signed a new agreement allowing the transit of large quantities of extremely heavy freight through the Globibahn tunnel, making Globibahn a crucial link in the North-South alpine axis. :D

Latest work has been to bring street lighting ot the crossings. Just need red warning lights now - ready made ones are very expensive though.

Could you incorporate something like this Matt -
https://www.amazon.com/5mm-12v-Pre-wired-Flashing-Red/dp/B06WGM4Z64
(just as an example), maybe in some free standing structure? I am sure there are even cheaper ones available. Just a thought.

I made these myself way back in the 90s:   Small "lighthouse" LEDs, brass tube (acts as one side of the circuit) and thin wire down through the tube for the other side.  In my case they're driven by a Busch flashing module as I had one already, but an alternating flasher circuit is easy enough to put together - plenty of circuits on the 'net.

The LEDs were something like this

I couldn't bear having so many unsoldered connections. With the new layout position, baseboard removal was not an option, so I realised I could just tilt it instead. Cut to scene of Matt doing some seat-of pants soldering  :D All done now!

Matt.
I am now, more than ever, convinced that you have developed an addiction to solder fumes. Will this urge to solder everything in sight never end?  :D :D

I see you’ve found a use for the yoga blocks, I could have done with a couple of those in today’s practice 😀

Campers on the station green  :D

This little Arnold loco is a gem, runs like a dream the whole time. I still don't really have suitable stock to run with it, must aquire some. I'd love some green ÖBB Schlierenwagen for it but they are hard to come by.
