Thinking out loud, what I really need is the ability to shine dim but even orange/pinky light on the backscene at dusk. LEDs? :hmmm:

You can get the LED strips in various colours, and in RGB with a remote control so you can change the colour however you like :-)    Some of the cheaper ones I think only do static colours I guess you'd want one which can do continuously variable colour plus brightness - it'll need to be quite subtle I suspect.

Last couple of days spent mainly backscene tweaking. I'm rather satisfied: I must admit, when I take it away it looks a bit weird without it. When I first built the layout I had no idea I would be doing one!

Hurrah, I've phoned ÖBB and managed to get my rail tickets cancelled in return for vouchers. They're valid till 2030 but I'm planning to use them the minute this crisis is over!
