Very good modelling, no doubt. Maybe it's just how I see it, but your photos always give me the impression that the ballast is over-sized and looks too clean and new. I guess you don't bother weathering it? Are your rail sides painted?

Hi Springwood, cheers for the feedback. No I haven't weathered the ballast or painted the rails as yet, something I will probably do in the future...the layout is still very much incomplete...
I've been mainly trying to concentrate on the scenics to get that finished, especially the area around the football ground, although it's all gone on the back burner at the moment & me loosing my mojo due to a family bereavement...
As for the ballast being oversized...it was N gauge fine grey ballast I think woodlands scenics I used, I'm pretty happy how it looks, too late to change it now anyway without ripping it all up  :uneasy: :hmmm:

Cheers,
Mark

Yes indeed. Very sorry about the family bereavement. I had one of those a few years ago and, understandably, many things take a back seat. Hope you mend soon.

Hi Everyone,

After a bit of an absence and a very difficult year, I honestly haven't done anything to the layout since my last post. However after seeing posts on various sites of the repainted HST marking the end of operations on LNER, it's inspired me to give my trains a run this morning, aswell as my HST.

So...The 1121 InterCity to London Euston waits at Platform 4 hauled by a banger blue 47, A 3 car hybrid 150 Sprinter has not long arrived at Platform 5 with a local from Wolverhampton, & the 1115 Liverpool to Plymouth HST arrives at Platform 7 (this was a diversion service via Salop in real life but I've pinched it with modellers licence as a timetabled train as an excuse to run a HST 😉)

I'll take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy & Prosperous 2020  :beers: :beers:

It's good to see one of my favourite layouts reappear, and I hope this means you are starting to feel a bit less stunned.
