RevolutioN / dapol BoB and WC????

Now I might be getting this very wrong but do I recall that Mike and Ben managed to obtain workings from dapol in order to start this project and work on what was already done OR was the dapol one that horrific (as in the OO one) that nothing was any use and it was basically started from scratch?

My questioning is, although revolutioN have just announced the proposed Sturgeon that does look fantastic but unfortunately no good for me, could we push dapol to sell the current CAD for the rebuilt BoB and WC and crowdfund revolutioN to push this on and deliver it in my lifetime?

I am desperate for such models and and willing to be a considerable contributor towards the funding if it is something we are able to do.

I seem to recall quite alot of unhappy people when dapol announced it would be shelved due to management and funding..........issues I guess is the right word.

Hello all,

Revolution did propose the Class 21/9 diesel as a joint venture with Dapol that failed to reach adequate expressions of interest by a huge margin.

We don't have any plans to do any steam locos at this time, and have not had any contact with any manufacturer about this.

before RailGooner said he had been confused. My reasoning behind that was in relation to the first paragraph and suggesting we see (if Ben and Mike had aquired the dapol information for their pendolino) if the same could happen with the BoB / WC info.

I have no idea IF talks have already taken place between the two companies, however Ben has confirmed that is not the case.

So with RevolutioN testing the waters for a Sturgeon wagon and official quote 'we have no plans for a steam locomotive' then it looks like we continue to wait and see IF our hopes are ever delivered.

Ben / Mike apologies for any confusion but if you are ever interested in taking it on I will support it in every way I can.

For everyone else I wait with you dreaming one day some superbly detailed brilliant running BoBs and WC grace my layout.

Well before RevolutioN even start thinking about kettles with all those complex roddy-valvey bits I'll just mention I have funds ready and waiting for a 115/116/117/118 DMU in BR blue/grey, hint hint (actually I'd prefer a 116/117 as lashed up by Tyseley but happy to let others agonise about which is the most feasible).

I am not quite sure what this means, but for avoidance of any misinterpretation or doubt Revolution have had no contact with any manufacturer other than Rapido about the Pendolino - the model has been entirely based on a laser scan we did and drawings priovided to us by Virgin and Alstom.

It was exactly that Ben, I was unsure IF you had information relating to the dapol production of their pendolino and wanted to clarify whether you had OR if yours was produced from your own work, which it obviously was. My point being IF you had information from dapol attempt to build yours could the same happen with their information on the BoB / WC and us crowdfund you building them for us.

Which you answered in your first post relating to the subject.

These are my personal memories so could be a tad scrambled.

Dapol are reworking the electrics including motor for their kettle and will then take the plans off the shelf.

So unlikely any other manufacturer will want to start now and have Dapol then beat them to the shops
