   First up, thanks for noticing the Xmas tree Martin, it is a present from daughter & lonely if put away.
     Now fes up time, the Kestrel kits are the work of my darling wife who also built this beauty from Parkside Dundas


  Well impressed superb detailing.
  The roller coaster week started with a late Xmas present via E bay


 Just couldn't resist this Series 100 Shinkansen from Tomix, another Bullet train add on needed but don't they look gorgeous.
  On my phone tonight so will continue shortly

Hope that's right (,need a new computer).
A day off & the new Shinkansen on the test track


  Imagine my horror when the controller shorted out & the train refused to move talk about gutted   :veryangry:.
    Fast forward past work to today & finished off a couple of Metcalfe kits




  Overall well pleased with the two signal boxes although more detailing needed.
    The best of all turned on the power under the Series 100 & knock me down it just ran as expected from Japan.
   Will try & sort the video issues for next time, thanks for looking

Wow that Shinkansen looks superb, not sure if it fits in with its surroundings though, I take it Rule 1 applies. Somebody mention the building at right angles on the platform, for me it is too near the edge of the platform but then again maybe rule 1 applies again.

  Thanks for looking Chris, yes I am most very definitely Rule one. I find it very difficult to decide on a country never mind a town or city to model. Although in the grand scheme the present kits are for the 60's Cornwall but for now I love running all my trains. The platform building position is not yet set in stone, though clearance is fine.

Hope you got the Shinkansen working.

Regarding the parcel vans it looks like our cousins in Kent and Pas de Calais used SNCF parcel/baggage cars on their night train. Bit of info here...

...but am sure we can all have a Rule 1 discussion about it. I've got a CIWL baggage car but it's upstairs and can't remember who manufactured it.

Anyway, time is on our side to decide  :D  :worried:.

  Many thanks Chris the photos of the Night Ferry really useful.
      My thoughts are to base our train ferry service on The Night Ferry in the Sixties although I am assuming the direct London to Paris service was introduced in response to the popularity of our Bristol to Bordeux route introduced around 1920ish.
    The Series 100 has run around but appears to need to be set up very carefully.
