Looking from the station building towards Hoff oriented exit:

PSX_20190909_195526

The retention wall is already in place, but the platform is going to see a vacuum cleaner soon... as there is still stuff in excess waiting to go off.

The catenary is one of the next problems. The original plan was to use only single masts:

Teste plataformas - 3.

It was more usual to use only two "XL" masts to cover the 5 lines, it was my next option, but there is a lack of space on the platform to insert the masts, and how could i make the suspended wires between them at my required length?

Using Dapol masts in the center of the track with two arms is also an option, as i found several photos like that.
It is the same cost as individual masts, but frees some space on platforms.

As DM Toys unleashed thousands of articles on eBay as an auction, i ended up with a few laser cut and 3d printed items for my layout at a good price regarding the original PVP.

I will show the kits later, but my curiosity went right away for the rigid NEM conectors:

Now i got to clean the track, to make a few test runs, as derails with these wagons were frequent.  :hmmm:

One of small Modebahn Union kits that had arrived is a small platform.

To be instaled in the only track at the station that has no platform, for accessing parked S-Bahn and local sets.

Only out of the box for location testing, but already feels somewhat overscale.

First ride of the newly arrived ICE 2 at the layout:

Still without the DCC conversion, the rest of the set went for a few laps on the first day behind our class 110 locomotive.

One of the coaches was prone to derail, i will have to check the bogie.

Overhead wires had arrived at Kellerstätt ! Well, not the wires itself...  :D

My short free time at afternoon was spent drilling and planting masts.
I know that they are not very german looking (similar were used in some areas), but the Dapol masts take away the prize regarding costs.

Drone like view:

Layout entry from all trains proceding from "Salzheim":

Eurosprinter entering track 2:

The masts are all in place, and i have tried to balance the looks and the actual correct placement if it was real life.
Next step is to adjust the square concrete base and to lock them into correct position.

Sorry for the photos and colors, it is only by mobile phone and the layout is in a basement.
And yes, there is lots of work regarding scenery to be done. :D

Another few baby steps @ Kellerstätt today.

It was another regular Wednesday until the arrival of this freight service: A Regio train with a 111 was diverted to the line nº2, the station based shunter was already with the engine on at line 5, and the branch backup Siberling was stored at the usual place:

The BR110 is entering the station, but today something unusual arrives with it:

Just behind a platform wagon, a former DB 360 has arrived at Kellerstätt Hbf: Still in all- over primer white, this unit was bought and delivered to the new railroad company operating some trains on the branch line: The "Neu-Neckland Lokal Bahn" !

The "NLB" will operate some freight trains with some repainted rolling stock as a side project. If I can make it work, it could also be in charge of the passenger trains with some diesel multiple units.

The station shunter starts to move:

And the second 360 goes into a side track, waiting to be moved into the company workshops to be painted, still with no decision about the paiting scheme.

With the freight train in the station, the BR111 goes away:

Hope that you have enjoyed this short movement as much as i did!  :claphappy:

Is that a Minitrix BR 111? Did you update the DB logos yourself?

That's correct !

Minitrix 12567 , and the decals were from Fleischmann 9554 and a second reference also from Fleischmann that i am unable to find now, for passenger stock with smaller dimensions (for the front and rear).

I will update a couple more logos, for better recreate the late 90s look.

Thanks, I have 12972, need to update the logos as a few of these were seen in Berlin in the mid-1990s in the orange S-Bahn livery on IR trains, so I was interested to see one with DB logos :). I think I have the Fleischmann decals somewhere, just never got round to doing anything with them yet.

Here they are:

9554 (side) are bigger than 9553 (front), way too big for the 111 and Siberling.

 :beers:
