Hello all,

Unfortunately no big changes on the layout, but i hope to get going with the construction very soon, as i finally bought a new airbrush and can start to add some color to the rail and working on ballast.

A second diesel locomotive is arriving at any time, so i can now operate the branch line with only diesel trains, leaving electric locomotives for the mainline.

During this time three "helping guides" were made to stand near the Trix Mobile Station:

1) Track plan, with every point with a number:

2) Updated timetable only with passenger trains, just for the fun of it.  :D

3) Small diagram with every move in the station:

As allways, the best part is always to see the designs on paper:

More updates very soon.  :beers:
Next step: search how to build the several layers of scenery, and what to apply/paint to the base before moving to the grass and other green stuff.

Hi Ricardo,

All looks good. Like the timetable. Want to do a similar thing when I'm up and running.

Bit late now and a few too many vinho tintos to take in the station movements but will look again in the morn.

Great stuff and looking forward to more.

Cheers weave  :beers:

Hello, and thank you Weave.  :beers:

The diagram is a bit confusing, i know.  :D
Even for me i must think twice but it is not my main guide for my sessions.
The diagram is very helpful to check "line occupation times" if i want to add another train or operate some extra service, or even check where i can store some wagons at a given time.  ;)

The layout isn't white anymore!  :bounce:

Fleischmann 87231- 212 248-9 by Ricardo Figueiredo, on Flickr

First step completed, with a flat brown color on every area that will receive some decoration on 2 of the 3 modules. The next step is probably the track painting and weathering, a bigger challenge on the main line with concrete sleepers for me.  :hmmm:

On the photo, the second and third v100 are dummies, Minitrix and Fleischmann old references without engines.

Last session of the year, with ICN 1962 and RB departing from station on video:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/59039484@N03/

Because of monetary reasons, i will stick with the Dapol NCAT1, and like i saw in some users continental diorama on RMWeb, the masts will be raised with a 6mm block of evergreen, so before i order some more to DM Toys, i will point all the future catenary masts with the evergreen blocks in the layout

It has been over a year with  no updates, but this layout still lives on.  :D

The construction is moving at a baby step at a time, but as there is not a deadline for completion, the important is to keep moving  :beers:

The actual state of the layout:

Station view from the left side with the "double track" from the mainline and the "Ottensteg" branch.

Station view with the Noch lasercut building location already marked down and with the hiden track visible behind.

The location for the BahnBus depot, with the parking line for the suburban composition behind. The grass was my first and only static grass experience: The fly swatter broke down after a single use, the battery is not charging when connected to the 220v mains.

Still about that "grassy thing":

I already soldered the conections inside again, but with no efect. The charging LED does lit up, but even after a 8 hour charge it does not work.

The latest entry of "rolling stock" for the layout is this Lemke O307, leaving the station just after the suburban train has arrived.  ;)

006

The only grass standing is the final cover with 4mm fibers (loo long for N Scale). Just found very hard to work with the  2 and 2,5mm fibers, but then again, it could be the fly swatters fault.

As a former bus driver and after years building "my own" bus company in 1:87 ( https://www.flickr.com/photos/59039484@N03/albums/72157631999018176 ), the BahnBus depot was a natural choice for taking this empy space into life, and to be the first to be built. This is also my first lasercut and modelbahn union kit:

The 4 walls are now in place with the 4+4 entry doors. As this kit is very plain and simple, i am looking now how can improve it, perhaps adding extra colour to the outside walls and maybe any interior detail.  :hmmm:

Nevertheless, the buses are now operating, and the drivers are already hired.  :D :D

Thank you!

The bus depot and the adjacent line is slowly getting into shape. I removed the brownish ballast and applied a new tone already glued down, and the Dapol catenary masts were placed.

A second O307 has arrived at Harthofen: The first one was damaged at arrival, and the DM Toys service replaced it with no cost at all, top service!

Harthofen - Recolha BahnBus - 16.02.2019

S-Bahn composition is waiting for the next working shift (it is saturday, so no S-Bahn service at Harthofen!) and a Mercedes O303 inside the depot.

On other news, i am trying to refresh my fleet of siberling: Painted interior to give some extra colour (it is all silver in the original version), new DB logo (i know it does not match with the rest of the markings on the car, and it is a little too big) and interior ilumination.

The "prototipe" has left the workshop, but i want to reduce even more the LED strip intensity:

IMG_20190216_001951

I will get back to this subject on a proper thread.  ;)

Sorry for the image quality, the layout is in a basement with no natural ligth at all, and the images were made by mobile phone.

Bus depot workshop already with night time illumination (3 5000K SMD), and the RGB LED strip is now operational, night and dusk modes are now possible:

Another few baby steps, but the goal rigth now is not to stop at all.

Trackside energy plugs for parked rolling stock added on the parking line:

A small communications building added near the bus depot:

And finaly, the main line is about to get some ballast, and first, some colour:

After the colour for the concrete rail sleepers has dried in place (the tape will always remove some.... Vallejo  ), it is time to paint the rails:

The goal was to clearly distinguish the mainline track and the branch line.

Now lets go to the ballast!

The ballast is on, but something went "wrong":

, on Flickr

The colour is almost a 100% match with the sleepers.  It is hard to notice one thing from another.  :worried:

Maybe a very diluted black wash can fix this after the glue?  :hmmm: :hmmm:
