The J39 again, about to pass the signal box. Isn't it stopping?

Unlikely, Roger.  The signal for the main line is pulled off.  Presumably, the subsidiary signal would be off for the goods loop if there was any Wrenton trade for the 'pick-up'.

Fabulous photograph, as ever!

Many thanks and best wishes.

John

The Table-Top Railway is an attempt to create, in British 'N' gauge,  a 'semi-scenic' railway in the old-fashioned style, reminiscent of the layouts of the 1930s to the 1950s.

It looks as though John is right - the J39 continues on its way...

It looks as though the J39 is stopping after all. It's reversing into the yard. When I was planning the layout I originally didn't have a facing point giving access to the goods yard but then wondered if, in real life, trains would be reversing in from a curving tunnel. Having a facing point on a main line may not be desirable either, but it did give me an opportunity to build the bracket signal mentioned by John.

The J39 is taking its time but at last it has started shunting its train.
