directional lights

just bought brand new 371-457 class 37 diesel. lights work in 1 direction but only for 5 mins in other direction. now just work oneway. i use a z21 control set

I'm assuming you fitted a decoder to this. If so are you sure the decoder is working correctly?

Did you test on DC first?

As above, did you remove the body to fit a decoder, then refit the body?

After refitting, was that when you noticed the lights at one end were not working?
If so, you have probably bent the contact strips at the affected end
Remove the body and inspect them
You will probably find they are now flatter at one end (the affected end) compared to the other end
Carefully realign the three contact strips, then refit the body

thank you all for replies , took model back to dealer who had no success in finding fault. got a new replacement , happy days, and lovely model
