Very nice work indeed, Alex. You definitely should write an article about how you constructed your model.

Any ideas for your next 3D printing project(s)?

Thank you for your kind words!

I have written a short article and sent it off to a magazine with some pictures so we'll wait and see what happens!

My next 3D project is the Reid-MacLeod loco (see thread in the 3D modelling section). I am waiting for the chassis to turn up before I start doing some serious CAD work on it!

Cheers,

Alex

Is it only me who can't see MacLeod without thinking there shall be only one...?

If it's Scotsmen yer after, there's a chap (or chaps) called Drummond who produced all sorts of lovely locos!

Hope you get your article printed! Don't suppose you can tell us which one, so we know where to look?

Hello all!

I have just heard that the 'Leader' project will feature in Model Rail in early 2020 :D. It is currently pencilled in for the February issue (MR270). This is very exciting news and I can't wait to see it in print!

Cheers,

Alex

Iíve only just caught up with this thread.
That is a truly superb model. It looks absolutely fantastic.
I sit very much in the non-technical camp so despite reading the thread, I have no idea how you make something like that. I can only wonder at, and admire, the ability of others.
And, well done for getting your article accepted by MR.
If it looks right then it most probably is right.

Definitely! I'm fascinated by the Leader-class locomotive, and your modelmaking here is inspirational. I'd love to publish a few photos and words in the NGSJ, and imagine our readers would enjoy learning about the project.

Cheers, NeMo
