If plenty of folks want them it might be worth co-ordinating an order otherwise it'll be a zillion sets of huge p&p fees

Shapeways shop is like a shop. when people buy things they buy it as their own item. I see none or very little of their info. I get a small amount of money for being owner of the model. sadly if I can't make more than $30 a month, I get nothing.
--edit--
I could change the "model" and print many in one go and then have a collection I could sell privately and make a small profit.

Hi Stew - since I was one of those who suggested this venture I ought to buy a couple of frets but the Shapeway's postage to New Zealand is horrendous - I saw the size of your box! If one of the smaller 'cottage industry' retailers who are on this forum could stock them and use "Jiffy" bags it would be a great help. Thanks, Brian

I'll have a look into it soon. So people like retailers can have a 'bulk buy' version.

Certainly would work for me, given I'm often ordering bits from Shapeways so it won't be a major postage hit.

I've been reading the Shop faq's a bit more deeply.
I get every penny I earn. and a bit goes towards admin fees for shapeways and paypal costs.
I Just have to wait for the amount to reach $30 before I can be paid.
Even if it takes 3 months to build up, I still get my $30. eventually.

I've added a bulk-ish version of the lamps to my 'shop'.

Any opinions and ideas?

As opposed to plasticard girders ?

I will btw pick up some of the bulk lamps when I next do a Shapeways order and stick em on the Ultima site. WIll be after I've tweaked the Gresley coaches a bit and done the composite and first interior detail so can get the next chunk of coach tests ordered.

Plastruct has a huge range of I H and other beams. The I beams are great for wagon solebars.

I just did this as a test. Comes out to about $24. How well does it compare to the price of others?
Each one has a face of 2.7 x 3 mm and about 4 inches long.

Just found them on the net. Are they strong and do they flex?
I might have to pop into my local Hobby shop and see if they have some.
